On Monday, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee (R-TN) joined 25 other Republican Governors in signing a letter requesting to meet with President Joe Biden regarding the southern border crisis within the next 15 days.
The letter reads, “As chief executives of our states, we request a meeting with you at The White House to bring an end to the national security crisis created by eight months of unenforced borders.”
The letter goes on to say, “While governors are doing what we can, our Constitution requires that the President must faithfully execute the immigration laws passed by Congress. Not only has the federal government created a crisis, it has left our states to deal with challenges that only the federal government has a duty to solve.”In addition to Governor Bill Lee, other signatories to the letter include Governors Kay Ivey (R-AL), Mike Dunleavy (R-AK), Doug Ducey (R-AZ), Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Brian Kemp (R-GA), Brad Little (R-ID), Eric Holcomb (R-IN), Kim Reynolds (R-IA), Charlie Baker (R-MA), Larry Hogan (R-MD), Tate Reeves (R-MS), Mike Parson (R-MO), Greg Gianforte (R-MT), Pete Ricketts (R-NE), Chris Sununu (R-NH), Doug Burgum (R-ND), Mike DeWine (R-OH), Kevin Stitt (R-OK), Henry McMaster (R-SC), Kristi Noem (R-SD), Greg Abbott (R-TX), Spencer Cox (R-UT), Jim Justice (R-WV), and Mark Gordon (R-WY).
The only Republican Governor who did not sign on to the letter was Vermont Governor Phil Scott (R-VT).
As Real Clear Politics notes, in March President Biden deputized Vice President Kamala Harris with addressing “the root causes” of the influx, but to date Harris has only visited the border briefly and has not contributed substantively to address the problem.
The surge of migrants has been steady through the summer. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, there were 208,887 migrant encounters along the Southwest Border in August and 212,672 encounters in July.

Lee needs to get some control over the ‘charities’ that are forcing refugees into our communities. It’s crazy that we would be worrying about refugees when the state of our country is falling apart. Send them all to California, Oregon, NYC and all the wonderful places that keep insisting we take them.
I imagine the conversation went something like this….
Lee: “Umm…cough cough…yeah I have no clue what to do…what are the other Governors doing?”
Secretary: “Governor, they are requesting a meeting with Biden.”
Lee: “Umm yeah, can you get me in on that”
Secretary: “Yes sir.”
Lee: “And oh, make sure the press knows about this too.”
In reality, the Governor needs to flash a sign to Pedo Joe, signifying to him that he’s #1 and then disperse these refuges to the gated communities these damned politicians live in.
