The Grand Ole Opry will host a benefit concert featuring performances by renowned artists to help raise funds for the Covenant School Community Fund.
The Covenant School Community Fund was formed after Audrey Hale, who identified as transgender, opened fire at The Covenant Presbyterian School in the Green Hills neighborhood in Nashville on March 27, killing six victims – three children.

A Covenant Knight at the Opry will occur on Monday at 7 p.m. CT. The two-hour concert will feature some of Nashville’s biggest musical figures, including Anne Wilson, Brandon Heath, Jason Aldean, Jeffrey Steele, Lee Brice, Maddie & Tae, Morgan Wallen, NEEDTOBREATHE, Old Dominion, Zach Williams, and more special guests.
All proceeds from the benefit concert will go to The Covenant School Community Fund to “continue mental health support for healing, ease the transition back into the building and equip the school for a safe, successful new year together.”
Tickets to Monday’s concert range from $75-$200. So far, as of press time, 275 donors have raised $570,129 for The Covenant School Community Fund.
“As an organization, The Covenant School is especially appreciative of the outpouring of support received from around the nation and beyond, and tremendously grateful to the first responders who acted quickly to protect students, faculty and staff,” the institution released in a statement in regards to the Grand Ole Opry’s upcoming benefit concert. “The Covenant School remains focused on loving their students, families, faculty and staff, and to beginning the process of healing while prioritizing the wellbeing of the community.”
“Together with performers, supporters and more, A Covenant Knight at the Grand Ole Opry House will help the organization continue their mission of preparing young Covenant Knights for the modern world with a strong foundation in Christian faith, while never forgetting those lost,” the institution added.

This sounds wonderful. The mental health needs of the community can always use support. However, this last part of the statement is troubling: “while prioritizing the wellbeing of the community.” This leads me to believe, based upon their resistance to releasing the manifesto and their support of red flag gun laws, that funds raised will be used to influence the special session. I don’t like to have to think there are hidden agendas, but it sure seems like it.
