U.S. Senate hopeful Bill Hagerty released a statement Friday supporting Senator Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) resolution condemning the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry.
“Radical liberals in Washington, led by The Squad and Nancy Pelosi, have continued their three year witch hunt and turned the House of Representatives into a total kangaroo court,” Hagerty said; adding:
Their calls for impeachment inquiry – and the way they are going about it – are very dangerous to our country. I appreciate Senator Graham’s leadership on this issue, and if I were serving Tennesseans in the United States Senate today, I would absolutely cosponsor this resolution condemning the House Democrats’ politically motivated impeachment inquiry. The American people deserve better than the radical liberals’ witch hunt.
Bill Hagerty, a Nashville native, is running for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate in 2020 to replace Senator Lamar Alexander, who will leave office after his term ends. Prior to his candidacy he was appointed by the Trump administration to be the U.S. Ambassador to Japan, where he served from 2017 until his resignation in June 2019.
