Live from Music Row Thursday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. –  host Leahy welcomed creator of the Huey Report and direct mail expert, Craig Huey, in-studio discuss the irony in today’s news as Texas House Democrats spread COVID and receive arrest warrants while a liberal college professor allegedly sets wildfires in Northern California after claiming Trump would become violent if not the winner in 2020.
Leahy: Well, it’s the last segment of the program. That means it’s time for News Potpourri. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, News Potpourri. These are the stories that are interesting. Don’t necessarily have a worth of a full segment, but perhaps have a touch of irony. Here’s the story for you, Craig.
Huey: Okay.
Leahy: What do you think of this one? The Texas House of Representatives has authorized the arrest of AWOL Democrats. The Democrats who left. The flea baggers who had COVID?
Huey: Oh, yeah.
Leahy: Those guys. The state Supreme Court has intervened and said the Texas House can arrest them.
Huey: It’s amazing! (Laughs)
Leahy: Oh, jeez. It couldn’t have happened to nicer people.
Huey: That should put a little fear in them.
Leahy: Well I mean, it’s your job. If you are part of the state legislature, right. Your job is to convene. And they’re not convening.
What they did is they walked out of the regular session because they didn’t want to do election integrity reform because they wanted to do ballot harvesting.
Huey: Exactly.
Leahy: So the governor recall has a special session. They flee the state.
Huey: That’s right.
Leahy: They fly on private planes unmasked to Washington, D.C.
Huey: Embarrassing.
Leahy: They get six cases of COVID. They meet with the vice president and expose her to COVID. I mean we don’t want anybody to get COVID. No, but it’s when we have these things just rich with irony – (Laughter) the governor is going to call another 30-day special session.
Huey: They need to pass that Voter Integrity Act.
Leahy: Because you don’t have a quorum. They can’t take it to the United States Supreme Court, I don’t believe, because this is a Texas state law. And it’s not appealable to the Supreme Court.
Huey: Right.
Leahy: Now, the governor is going to call a special session. (Laughter) The Democrats don’t want to have a quorum because you can’t convene unless you have a quorum.
They have more than a third but significantly less than a half. You need to have two-thirds in session for a quorum. So they’re not going to show up.
Huey: No.
Leahy: And the Texas Rangers …
Huey: Are going to arrest them. (Laughter) It’s a circus. You can’t make that up.
Leahy: They’re going to have to flee the state again? Spreading COVID. (Chuckles)
Huey: How often can they flee the state? It really gets down to the bottom line.
Leahy: Who is paying for those private jets, by the way?
Huey: Really.
Leahy: I don’t know.
Huey: But that shows you how they don’t want honest elections.
Leahy: You are the California refugee. This story. Oh, my goodness. It’s at The Tennessee Star. Tennesseestar.com. California Professor who started wildfires …
Huey: Oh yes! Oh yes! (Laughter)
Leahy:Â And tried to trap firefighters, predicted Trump would get violent if he lost the 2020 election. Here’s the story by Debra Heine. Dr. Gary Maynard, the California Professor allegedly behind a number of wildfires raging in Northern California who was accused of intentionally trying to trap fire crews with his fires –Â (Laughter)
Huey: It’s horrible.
Leahy: – Is an anti-Trumper who said in an interview last November that President Trump suffered from a malignant narcissistic personality disorder (Laughter) and could become violent and destructive in response to defeat. Who has malignant Narcissistic personality disorder?
Huey: Let me just tell you, this is a reflection of the type of professors that are in these colleges. It’s not just one abnormal thing. Obviously, the others aren’t going on about fire, but they’re deranged.
They’re left-wing ideologues who are in there to indoctrinate the kids. Their whole agenda is political. And I bet somewhere he rationalized that the fires were going to help Gavin Newsom. Or rationalized that they were going to hurt the Republicans for climate change.
He probably tied it to climate change. We don’t know yet. But I will tell you this. If you go to a college campus, English, math, science, psychology, you’re going to get crazy professors like that.
Leahy: Court documents alleged that this professor, Gary Maynard, and he’s not really much of a professor in the sense that he’s been on adjunct faculty – was at Sonoma State. You know Sonoma.
Huey: I know it.
Leahy: I used to live in Sonoma way back then, but there’s a Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park not too far from Sonoma. Here’s what they say:
While court documents alleged that Professor Maynard is connected to more than half a dozen dangerous fires in Northern California, he is currently charged with starting only the ranch fire. That blaze broke out on a Saturday morning in a remote area where, according to court records, Maynard had just camped for the night.
It’s one of the three fires officials say Maynard set in recent days. All of them were very close to the Dixie fires in the northeastern footprint. Maynard’s alleged offenses “show that he is particularly dangerous,” even among arsonists, federal prosecutors say, ironically. Notice irony. See, we have irony in this segment.
Huey: Yes, we do.
Leahy: Ironically, Debra Heine writes that last November, Maynard was concerned about President Trump’s alleged propensity for violence. So, you know, we’ll see how this plays out.
Let me emphasize, these are allegations against Gary Maynard. And so apparently they’re in the court. They’ll be adjudicated and we’ll see what happens. Craig Huey, what a fantastic program we’ve had today.
Huey: Thank you, Michael.
Leahy: And you have started a movement here.
Huey: Let’s do it.
Leahy: Let’s recall left-wing lunatic board members who want masks for kids who don’t need them.
Huey: Fantastic.
Leahy: We’ll see if we can do it.
