House Freedom Fund Endorses Andy Ogles for TN-5 Seat

The conservative House Freedom Fund (HFF) endorsed Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles in the race for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District seat. The House Freedom Fund is the Political Action Committee of the House Freedom Caucus.

In a statement, the organization said, “We’re also proud to announce our support for Andy Ogles (R-TN) for Congress in Tennessee’s 5th District.”

“Andy is the Mayor of Maury County, one of the fastest-growing in the state. He’s also a successful entrepreneur and a longtime conservative activist,” the HFF statement continued. “Andy is an expert on fiscal policy, and even spearheaded the largest tax cut in the history of Tennessee.”

“Andy Ogles is exactly the kind of leader conservatives need in Washington. He has our full support in a crowded Republican primary, and he needs yours too,” concluded the endorsement statement.

According to the emailed statement, “House Freedom Fund (HFF) is a grassroots-funded political action committee that helps elect conservative candidates to the U.S. House of Representatives. HFF only supports candidates who are dedicated to open, accountable, and limited government, and who support policies that promote liberty, safety, and prosperity for all Americans.’

U.S. Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) has high praise for the HFF, saying of the organization, “The House Freedom Fund helps grassroots candidates get the financial support they need to compete with establishment candidates.”

The HFF-endorsed candidates had some impressive victories in Tuesday’s Republican primaries.

The HFF highlighted two of those victories, saying, “Thanks to your support, several of our candidates won their primary elections yesterday, including two new conservative leaders.”

“In North Carolina’s 13th district, conservative Bo Hines (R-NC) won the GOP nomination by 10 points. Bo is young and hungry – and tough as nails,” said the PAC. “He’s not interested in corporate, milquetoast establishment insider politics. He wants to make America great again and defeat everyone who doesn’t.”

“In Pennsylvania’s 8th district, conservative Jim Bognet (R-PA) also won his primary. Jim now gets a rematch against incumbent Matt Cartright (D-PA). The redrawn 8th district became more conservative, so this is a ripe opportunity for a conservative pickup,” the funding organization said.

“These were both hard-fought victories that would not have happened without your support. Thank you for being part of our team and working so hard to help us grow the House Freedom Caucus,” the HFF added in the statement.

The Republican primary for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District seat is scheduled to occur on August 4.

Andy is the loser. Maybe all of them are.

To anyone who follows Tennessee politics it is no surprise the House Freedom Fund would endorse Andy in this Fifth District race insofar as Andy has been an outspoken conservative in the Midstate area for two decades. Hopefully the HFF endorsement will mean much needed funds will flow Andy’s way so he can compete with the centrist/tepid conservative Republican establishment money that can be expected to support Beth Harwell and the personal wealth of Kurt Winstead. Hopefully we Midstate conservatives will join the HFF and financially support Andy as well.

Andy is the real Tennessee conservative! Andy please consistently push for a federal balanced budget amendment, like Tennessee state government has in place.

    Beth Harwellis the real RINO
As speaker she continually delayed and postponed the constitutional carry bill!
She supported and voted for Bill Haslam large gas tax increase! How do you like the gas prices we are paying?
She also did nothing to build a strong gop party in Nashville!
Beth is a loser and Andy will fight for hardworking Tennesseans!
