Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry Announced as Keynote Speaker at TNGOP Statesmen’s Dinner

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry will serve as the keynote speaker at the Tennessee Republican Party’s (TNGOP) annual Statesmen’s Dinner, which will be held next month in Nashville.

TNGOP’s 47th Annual Statesmen’s Dinner will be held on June 15 at the Music City Center. Receptions will begin at 5:00 p.m., while the dinner and program will begin at 6:00 p.m.

This year’s theme of the event, which is TNGOP’s largest fundraiser of the year, is “Last Best Hope.”

Single tickets for the annual Statesmen’s Dinner start at $300. Attire is business professional/cocktail.

The party announced on Wednesday that Landry will serve as the event’s keynote speaker, and businessman Damon T. Hininger, the CEO of CoreCivic, will serve as the event’s dinner chairman.

TNGOP released a two-minute advertisement for its Statesmen’s Dinner this year, which featured clips of multiple news segments detailing the state of the nation under the Biden administration – including high inflation, effects of illegal immigration, and more – over audio of previous speeches delivered by former President Ronald Regan.

The ad concludes with scenes from Landry’s gubernatorial victory, which successfully flipped Louisiana’s governor’s office from blue to red.

Landry was elected governor of Louisiana last year after serving as the state’s attorney general since 2016. Before that, he was the U.S. representative for Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District from 2011 to 2013.

Landry’s gubernatorial bid and victory was championed by the Republican Governors Association (RGA), which is now headed by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.

RGA’s Right Direction PAC spent over $4 million attacking Landry’s opponent in the race, Democrat Shawn Wilson, defining him as a “deeply flawed candidate and career bureaucrat who was responsible for Louisiana’s infrastructure getting worse under nearly eight years of his failed leadership at the Louisiana Department of Transportation.”

I love the line: “That an intellectual elite can plan for us better than we can plan for ourselves” as they show a voter ballot.
I wonder if the Governor, and former AG, will address the issue of the TNGOP stealing the votes of over 200,000 REPUBLICANS after the most recent election. The TNGOPSEC arbitrarily declared those 200,000 votes invalid and appointed their own people to the positions mandated by the voters. This was done in clear violation of State law and the TNGOP bylaws.
It is a dangerous precedent to give a party executive committee the authority to declare the winner of an election to be invalid and appoint their own substitution WITHOUT voter approval.
There should be widespread OUTRAGE at this! There should be AGTennessee intervention, and re-seating of the ELECTED delegates who have been ‘removed’ illegally.
Isn’t ‘election integrity’ a rally point for Republicans? Let’s see some!
