The organization March for Our Lives is scheduled to host a day of anti-Second Amendment protests in the wake of the Texas tragedy on June 11.
A protest is already scheduled to occur in Nashville from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nashville Public Square Park.
The Facebook description for the Nashville protest says, “By now I am sure you all have heard about the horrific massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas yesterday that left 21 innocent people—mostly children—dead. I, probably like many of you, am very angry that this has continued to happen and there has been a lack of action from our government officials.”
It goes on to attack the NRA, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Tennessee’s gun laws.
“Unsurprisingly, Tennessee’s state senators receive funding from the NRA, and Marsha Blackburn refuses to blame lack of adequate gun restrictions and safety measures as a major cause for these massacres. The state’s House also recently passed a bill lowering the age requirement for handguns from 21 to 18 in Tennessee,” the event says.
“Something about the response this time around feels different, and I want to capitalize on that energy and not let this die down. I was surprised to see that nothing has been started yet, so I am organizing a March For Our Lives event in Nashville to accompany the newly-announced national event happening in D.C. on June 11th (just like the one that occurred in 2018) and am looking for any and all help,” the organizer said.
“Please reach out if you are interested in getting involved and will be in Nashville in a couple weeks. It will be a tight turn around, but I believe we can organize to bring out a lot of people and hopefully make our government officials listen and do something. On June 11th, we March For Our Lives and the lives of our children and students,” the message said.
March for Our Lives was famously founded by David Hogg and others in the aftermath of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018.
The organization makes it clear on its website that its goals are political.
“We spurred a historic youth turnout in the 2018 midterm elections, with a 47 percent increase over the last midterm election and the highest percentage of youth voter turnout ever. Voters made it clear that the status quo was no longer acceptable — a record 46 NRA-backed candidates lost their elections that November.”

Who is funding & organizing “March for our livea” ?

Proves IRS code 501(c)-4 needs to be abolished by congress, but they are too scared of their own fund raising repercussions. and transparency of pac donors.
The picture shows a bunch of teens and 20-somethings that are yet to have a brain. I am guessing that there are some political operatives behind the scenes stirring them up. I wonder how many of them have a real job.
These people are the real Walking Dead, Brainwashed fools marching towards slavery.
This is TN, let’s show up to counter and make sure to exercise your right!
This sick person set off so many alarm bells that SOMEONE should have noticed his irrational behavior. If the masters of the twiterverse can filter and shut down conservative thought, why can’t they isolate people who exhibit violent patters of behavior and report them? How about the pharmaceutical industry that pumps young people full of antidepressant drugs that push them over the edge? I find it so hypocritical of the Left to go off the deep end whenever situations like this occur (and rightly so), but they have no problem with the murder of the unborn, even up to the time of birth. To them it’s just about disarming law abiding Americans.
But here’s the thing: what you’ve just said about liberals can be flipped around and said about conservatives. Conservatives want to protect the lives of the unborn but think nothing of supplying a teenager with an assault weapon. So how do you make those opposite goals mesh?
Please define what you term an “assault weapon”. I do not believe there is a legal definition of such. If I attack my neighbor with a hammer does that qualify as an “assault weapon”? Sort of like telling everyone that they should pay their “fair share” of taxes. No substance.
Teenagers who purchase a firearm do so by their own choice, and maybe that decision is encouraged by; a broken family, violent video games, over the top movie violence being created by Hollywood, and the list goes on. The percentage of gun owners who aggressively use their firearm in a violent manner compared to the number of lawful gun owners is so minuscule that it makes the argument that guns are evil irrelevant. Evil exists everywhere and restricting people from owning firearms will not make it go away. Evil people will just find other tools to commit their violent crimes.
Abortion up to the time of birth (which is exactly what Vermont’s State Constitutional amendment will allow) is murder. This is just as despicable as shooting innocent people with a gun. Penalizing the many for the misdeeds of the few is not the answer.
What connection is there between abortion and gun ownership, other than you favor one (killing the unborn) and not the other (preserving a human right to self-defense)?
We really need more STEM graduates…
