Mayor Cooper Signs Order Requiring Face Masks in All Government Buildings

Nashville Mayor John Cooper signed an executive order Monday that requires anyone who enters a government building to wear a face mask.

Under the order, any employee or visitor must wear a face covering while inside any building or “indoor space” that is owned, managed, or leased by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

“The health and well-being of all Metro employees and the residents who visit our facilities is of paramount importance. Executive Order 7 is an important tool in our citywide COVID-19 response,” Cooper said in a statement.

“But I want to remind everyone to continue wearing face coverings in all public settings, keep a safe distance from others, and frequently wash your hands. A coordinated response is the best response, so we must remain united in our efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus and ensure a sustained economy reopening throughout Davidson County,” he added.

Metro employees who are working alone in their offices are exempted from the order. Exemptions are also made for children under the age of two, older children who can’t wear a mask properly or safely, and people who would jeopardize their health or safety by wearing a face mask.

Cooper said anyone who visits a Metro facility without a face mask will be provided with one. The Metro Public Health Department then announced Tuesday that it will be providing free face masks to the public at four drive-through centers throughout the city.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine attempted to institute a policy requiring all retail customers in the state to wear a face mask, but walked back the idea after admitting it was “a bridge too far.”

According to the Metro Public Health Department, Davidson County has had 4,390 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 1,369 active cases.

Nashville is setting the stage to be a victim of the China virus. Better for the bailout.

His looks like my jock strap.

  3. 83ragtop50

It is very appropriate for Cooper to wear a mask like the thief that he is. It might be even more appropriate to wear the mask as a blindfold because he runs Nashville like a blind fool.

A face mask is only effective to protect another person from your expirations while in close proximity. Otherwise, especially if tight and well-fitting, they lead to hypoxia which is the inhalation of high concentrations of CO2 from your own expirations. Forcing staff to continuously wear masks, especially who work in the areas of mandated wearing, is a very bad idea and is detrimental to their health and actually weakens the immune system making one more susceptible to a virus and other unhealthy conditions. Otherwise, this seems to be a psy op tactic to promote a narrative to accept arbitrary officialdom control. The they NEVER promote strengthening of our immune systems demonstrates that these authoritarian measures are NOT about our health.

You have been right on the money all along Ron. After all they are called the Center for Disease “Control”…..not Prevention.

It is almost as if these government busy bodies have done zero research or study on their own to help themselves, let alone the public they seem to feel responsible for controlling. Cooper’s executive order exempts “those people who would jeopardize their health or safety by wearing a face mask.” A.k.a., everyone.

Stupidity, It is contagious, be careful out there they are spreading it

Did Cooper turn in his mask with the flag of Turdistan for a mask with what looks like flags from around the world? So the Napoleon complex is true, first Nashville and then the world…globalist little dork!

  7. David S. Blackwell RN, BSN

What a moron. This portly little man. If he really wants to do something for the health of his people, he should close down all the fast food restaurants.

  8. Freeman

What a little jerk! I can see this toad strutting around City Hall like Napoleon, all full of himself. He has got to go!

My mask is gonna have “Cooper’s an A-hole” written on it.

Just another stall and delay tactic , he is worried about people he may have to layoff because of Metro’s mismanagement of funds but, he does not seem to be worried about the lives he is ruining because he (Napoleon) will not open up Nashville for business. He is playing politics while Nashville is dying. Thank you democrats for providing such a loser.
