Metro Nashville Police Says It Did Not Interview Alleged Cyberstalker McKenzie McClure

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) told The Tennessee Star it did not interview an alleged cyberstalker now in federal custody who left a concerning message for Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) in March that caused the school to close for one day.

McKenzie McClure, a self-identified “trans man” also known as Kalvin McClure or Kalvin Mikoledes, was arrested on suspicion of cyberstalking by federal agents on April 29 for the message she left for CPA and her social media activity where she made several concerning posts about CPA and threatened Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and his wife Maria Lee. McClure is still in federal custody.

“McClure does not reside in Davidson County and this agency did not participate in an interview of her,” MNPD Public Affairs Director Don Aaron told The Star in an email.

The Star asked whether MNPD interviewed McClure (pictured above) after she left her message for CPA, whether McClure had been sent for a mental health evaluation, if MNPD determined McClure made a threat toward Bill Lee, and if MNPD took any precautions due to such a threat.

However, MNPD reportedly identified and engaged McClure after she left her March voicemail for CPA, but police officers did not arrest her because they determined the contents of her message did not constitute a threat, according to WSMV at the time.

The Star followed up with MNPD to confirm if WSMV’s reporting is accurate and determine the details of officers’ interactions with McClure.

“We did identify the out of county individual,” Aaron told The Star in an email. “We had discussions with out of county law enforcement and subsequently with other entities.”

McClure, a former CPA student, posted to her X account days before her arrest, “Also Bill Lee knows if he makes one wrong move it’s Joever [sic] for him and my 4th grade teacher… i.e., his WIFE.”

McClure made that post the same day that Bill Lee made a visit to CPA’s campus, according to the criminal complaint filed against McClure. The complaint also noted Maria Lee’s former employment at CPA.

The Star asked the governor’s office to confirm whether Maria Lee taught McClure and if Bill Lee visited CPA’s campus the same day of McClure’s threatening post, though no response has been received yet.

Maria Lee taught third and fourth grade at CPA for 14 years and coached softball, track, and cross country, according to her office’s website. The criminal complaint document against McClure says she attended CPA from 1999 to 2004, citing school officials.

In McClure’s voicemail, as transcribed in the criminal complaint, she referenced Deadpool 2, a Marvel superhero movie where one of the characters returns to the orphanage where he was raised to kill the headmaster who abused him as a child.

McClure told CPA to “trust me when I say unless you want another Deadpool 2, you killed by my hand type of stuff. You know exactly what I am talking about.”

McClure left her voicemail on March 24, only days before the first anniversary of the Covenant School shooting. On March 27, 2023, a former student of the Covenant School who identified as transgender entered the building and killed six people before being killed by MNPD officers.

McClure was formerly McKenzie Anne Stephens, a 2017 graduate of Lee University who married Jarrod McClure and worked as a wedding photographer, The Star previously reported citing her apparent Facebook account.

When this situation happened and they dismissed it as non-threatening, I doubt there was one person that believed that. And now all this shocking information comes out about this “person” it makes you wonder if he had followed through, how it would’ve panned out for the police and officials who ignored him the first time. And what was involved the first time. What did he say that wasn’t a “threat”? On top of that, I bet we’ll hear nothing about this on main stream news. What a twisted world we live in. Come Lord Jesus!

MNPD doesn’t get involved in crime anymore.

  3. MNPD is normally too busy protecting “the rights” of pro-Hamas demonstrators than performing expected duties.

    This was/is a stalker.
This individual threatened a sitting Governor and wife with Murder.
Perhaps the LG(H)BT community is the new Murder Inc. protected by government?
