Nashville’s small business owners have new online resources to help them reopen and navigate their way out of COVID-19.
Nashville Metro At-Large Council member Steve Glover announced one new website, SBTFNashville.com at a press conference Monday.
Glover co-chairs the city’s Small Business Task Force. For assistance, business owners may sort through that website for a list of financial resources, he said.
“We are also working with the Metro Health Department in the coming days to try to develop a systematic plan for how we help you and the employees train, get ready for how to reopen and hopefully determine a date [to reopen],” Glover said, adding he and members of the task force are coordinating with Mayor John Cooper’s office.
Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Ralph Schulz, meanwhile, said owners have additional resources through his organization’s website.
“Starting later today the chamber will provide additional reopening support to all businesses. The chamber is creating a clearinghouse of information on how different business types can safely reopen to protect their employees and their customers. The information will be drawn from relevant trade organizations and regulatory groups. Restaurants and retail will be added by the end of today and new business types will be added throughout the rest of the week,” Schulz said.
“In May and June the chamber will host a webinar series ‘Your Partners for the Next Normal,’ open at no cost to all Davidson County businesses on topics related to reopening to best practices to ensuring employee and customer safety.”
Also at Monday’s press conference, Academy of Country Music CEO Damon Whiteside said members of his organization will hold their 55th annual ACM Awards Ceremony in Nashville. CBS will broadcast the event live at 8 p.m. Easter/7 p.m. Central, Wednesday, Sept. 16, Whiteside said.
ACM officials had previously scheduled the event earlier this month in Las Vegas, but they had to postpone due to COVID-19.
