Rachel Alexander, lead reporter at The Arizona Sun Times, is warning that Arizona’s final election results may be “dragged out” for days after Tuesday night as an opportunity for Democrats to “figure a way to change the results.”
Real Clear Politics’ polling average has former President Donald Trump up an average of 2.8 percentage points over Vice President Kamala Harris in a head-to-head matchup in Arizona.
In 2020, Trump lost Arizona to incumbent President Joe Biden by 0.3 percentage points. In 2016, Trump won the state over Democrat Hillary Clinton by 3.5 percentage points.
When it comes to the finalization of election results, Alexander said results will not be finalized on election night or even within the week after, explaining how it may be close to or even more than 10 days before results are finalized.
“They know that when you drag these elections out, it allows these corrupt cheaters to do things,” Alexander warned on Tuesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.
“The Democrats don’t want us calling [the race] that early. They want to keep dragging it out so they can figure a way to change the results. I don’t think there’s any way we’re going to be able to call Arizona early because it’s part of a deliberate strategy,” Alexander added.
Aside from certified election results, Alexander said the momentum is favorable for former President Donald Trump in the presidential race.
“Everything just continues to crescendo for Trump here. The momentum is incredible. Democrats appear to have given up on Arizona when you’re looking at the battleground states at this point. Arizona seems to be the most solid of all the battleground states for Trump,” Alexander said.
Alexander made similar comments regarding Republican nominee Kari Lake in the U.S. Senate race against Democrat Ruben Gallego.
“While I can admit this now, while a couple weeks ago, a month ago, I didn’t think she’d be able to pull it off, I think [Kari Lake] actually is going to pull it off as long as there’s not massive voter fraud,” Alexander said.
“[Gallego] is just an empty suit. He’s been propped up because of his ethnicity. We all know it. And meanwhile, Kari is not only beautiful and charismatic, but she’s absolutely brilliant,” Alexander added.
