Congressional Democrats are threatening to subpoena the report to be issued by special counsel Robert Mueller, and U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09) is spouting off conspiracy theories about the new attorney general as well.
The threat comes with reports that the special counsel may issue the report on so-called Russian interference in the 2016 elections next week, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) said on CNN’s “New Day,” which the network posted on Twitter.
AG William Barr “has to make a decision — is he going to be the people’s lawyer or is he going to be the President’s lawyer?” @SenBlumenthal says as sources tell CNN that the Justice Department is preparing for Mueller report as early as next week. https://t.co/o1rWjoIe29 pic.twitter.com/ZR9AXMOTqa

Attorney General William Barr was reticent recently about whether he would allow Mueller to testify before Congress, and whether he would resist a subpoena if it were issued for the report, Roll Call said.
Meanwhile, Cohen, who is well known for providing colorful yet not always-appropriate soundbites, had a few things to say about Barr during an interview on CNN. The video is available here.
Cohen, who serves on the House Judiciary Committee, accused the new attorney general of carrying out President Donald Trump’s orders to end the Russian probe abruptly. He questioned the timing of Barr starting his job and the investigation ending soon thereafter.
“It seems like possibly Barr has put an end to the Mueller investigation, and I think Barr was sought out by Trump probably with The Federalist to find somebody who would do his bidding. And I’m afraid he will give us very little insight into the report, and we will have to subpoena Mueller and/or the report.”
Cohen referred to The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies, which seeks to reform the legal system.
But did Cohen have any evidence? It did not seem so.
In fact, CNN host Brianna Keilar called Cohen.
“That is a big allegation,” she said.
She asked for proof. Cohen only offered more speculation, which Keilar pointed out.
Continuing his attacks later, Cohen tweeted, “The American public has paid for the special counsel’s report & they deserve to see it. They deserve to know whether or not their president is a crook. However, I fear Trump & Barr may try & stop the public from seeing the report. #MuellerReport.”

Cohen in the past has said such things as he wished President Donald Trump would tell Marsha Blackburn, who was then running for the Senate, to jump off a bridge.

Steve Cohen and his ilk depend on the ignorance of their constituents to continue being elected. If people were made to understand the true costs of their schemes no Democrat would be elected again to any office! The only answer I can see is to educate, especially the young. I realize that is no easy task and sometimes extremely difficult for “there are none so blind as those who refuse to see”, but remember, the left is extremely organized and never rests. Their tenacity must be met with vigorous, common sense resistance. The survival of our Republic depends on it!
Steve Cohen is a fruitcake! He does not know what he is talking about – He is just playing to his free loading base.
Getting more wealthy while at it.
Cohen = “gas-bag”.
he American public has paid for the special counsel’s report & they deserve to see it.
Uh, the American people have no say on how the federal government wastes THEIR money, so wrong again, comrade. Is there any wonder why Cohen’s district is one of the worst on the planet? yet, they keep reelecting him, and therefore, deserve the results.
Oh, but wait! That’s why he supposedly appointed Matt Whitaker as the acting AG.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. IF NOTHING HAS BEEN FOUND BY NOW, IT IS NOT THERE, OR THIS BUNCH WILL NEVER FIND IT. QUIT WASTING THE TAXPAYERS MONEY, AND GET A LIFE.
These people are nuts. I cannot stand to watch any cable or TV news because I refuse to listen to any of these psycho democrats. They have so much hate they are all demented. It has really become a sickness as they have no idea how crazy they look and sound. The scary thing is young people and minorities eat it up, really sad .
You say that you cannot stand to watch any cable or TV news. People should be as informed as possible. I would not ‘turn off’ the television. You say that you refuse to listen to the psychos. I don’t blame you. What I myself do is use the mute button. It is an excellent device. The Nobel Peace Prize ought to go to the inventor of the t.v. mute button.
