Rep. Jim Cooper Joins House Speaker Pelosi in Calling for President Trump’s Impeachment

U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper (D-TN-05) is in with the “Squad” in the move to impeach President Donald Trump.

Cooper on Tuesday tweeted, “It’s time for the House of Representatives to begin the impeachment process against President Trump. The President’s invitation to yet another foreign power—this time Ukraine—to undermine U.S. elections requires that Congress begin the process in our”

The tweet continues, “Constitution to levy formal charges against him. This is a very serious step, but the President’s continuing misconduct requires that Congress uphold our Constitution and the laws of the land. No one, not even the President, is above the law.”

The calls for impeachment are based on allegations that President Trump pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, The Tennessee Star reported. Trump allegedly threatened to withhold military aid if President Volodymyr Zelensky didn’t comply.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told the Democratic Caucus Tuesday that she is ready to move on a formal impeachment inquiry.

The president has dismissed the calls for his impeachment.

Cooper’s views stand in contrast to other Tennessee politicians.

Bill Hagerty, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Tennessee, criticized Cooper and U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09), who also is calling for impeachment.

Hagerty, President Trump’s former U.S. ambassador to Japan, said it was “disappointing” to see Cooper embrace “the Squad and other radical liberals’ call for impeachment.”

“A clear majority of House Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi and ‘The Squad,’ are calling for impeachment, and now that includes both of Tennessee’s Democrat Congressman,” Hagerty said in a press release. “It’s disappointing to see both Jim Cooper and Steve Cohen join in tearing down President Trump, rather than working with him to make life better for Tennessee families.”

The Squad refers to liberal Democratic representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.

Another prominent Tennessean, U.S. Rep. Dr. Mark Green (R-TN-07) is supporting Trump. He appeared on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom Sunday to say the president is correct in calling for the Ukranian investigation, The Star reported.

Joe Biden admitted to pressuring with a billion-dollar loan threat the government of Ukraine to fire an investigator who maybe was getting a little close to the $3 million payment that went to Biden’s son, routed through two different countries,” Green said. “Maybe they were getting too close and that’s why the billion-dollar bribe happened. That’s O.K. to the Democrat party? Their concept of right and wrong is upside down.

Chuck Ross, for the Daily Caller News Foundation, reported that Trump pressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at least eight times to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden’s son in a phone call central to a mysterious whistleblower complaint.

Rep. Jim Cooper is the brother of Nashville Mayor-Elect John Cooper, whose policies include continuing the push to remake Music City into Sanctuary City.

What has Jim Cooper done for Nashville since 2016?NOTHING! For all we know, he could have being “Biden” his time and lining is pockets. First, I will never Vote for a “Demo-crook” again. The media-mob whipped a here say whistleblower complaint into the Sum of All Fears. declared a president who is for Truth and a Justice as “clear and present danger” to the United States. Mr. Cooper, you and your buddy Steve Cohen need to run to mommy AOC and ask her what to do about the egg on your face. The Democrats though they were have an impeachment party but the party hats they ordered had the word “dunce” on them.

Jim Cooper and Steve Cohen. Two of Tennessee’s biggest embarrassments. Both should have been replaced long ago.

  5. Rick

The Democrats have accomplished nothing that I can see since they have been elected the majority in the house except attack our president.
We the people of Tennessee pay Coopers salary for what he has accomplished – nothing. The people of Tennessee with Cooper and Cohen have zero representation.. Both should be replaced.
