Congressman John Rose (R-TN-06) blasted a “radical and unethical” leak from the Supreme Court, disclosing an initial draft of a potential ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson.
The leaked document, obtained by German-owned Politico, signals that a majority of justices on the Court favor overturning Roe v. Wade, a landmark ruling that detailed a constitutional right for abortions in the country.
“I have been an attorney for nearly 30 years and yesterday’s leak of a draft document tied to one of the most consequential cases in the history of the Supreme Court of the United States is the most radical and unethical action I have ever seen in the legal arena. If the Supreme Court can’t keep a secret, who can?” Rose said in an emailed statement.
“Washington is indeed a swamp teeming with self-interest and deceit. Selfish characters lurk behind every stone pillar and in every marble hall looking to advance their own agenda above the people’s will. It starts at the very top and yesterday it stretched its disgusting, rotten fingers into our nation’s highest court. The American people are sick of it. The radical insurrectionist who attempted to undermine the division of power in our government must be held accountable.”
Notably, the leak is not a final ruling, as the justices can change their vote throughout the deliberation process.
However, if the Court does rule to strike down the previous case and allow states to determine their own abortion-related laws, Rose praised the decision.
“Even with this desperate attempt by some Washington insider to cut the legs out from under an answered prayer, it appears that we may be on the cusp of a monumental decision. Tens of millions of voices have been forever silenced by abortion since a liberal, activist Supreme Court ruled, essentially out of thin air, that the right to an abortion was implied in the Fourteenth Amendment in its infamous 1973 decision, Roe v. Wade,” added Rose. “I am overjoyed that our long, hard fight to protect the sanctity of life may finally be nearing a major win.”

The headline from the congressman should be Roe is overturned. Why did the Senate GOP send out a memo saying to only talk about the leak? The said be “sensitive and compassionate” and don’t focus too much on abortion. I thought overturning Roe was the goal. Why aren’t we celebrating? Bad politics? Did they not want this news to come out before the election?
They never cared about life; just politics. And now they can’t run on their number one issue ever again.
seeing so many people upset about making it harder to kill a child. evil is rampant in this world at a scale unimaginable in the past
What Chief Justice Roberts did in authenticating the leaked document was in insure the intended impact of the leaker. He could have just announced an investigation.
Radical and unethical n’ff said.
