A new report claims that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN-05) has been living “on and off” with married aide Tim Mynett, but the first-term congresswoman continues to deny the existence of their relationship.
The Daily Mail published a report Monday with dozens of photographs of Mynett and Omar entering and exiting the congresswoman’s DC apartment near Capitol Hill. The two are careful to never be seen outside the apartment together, but The Mail reports that they spent at least six nights together inside the apartment in September.
EXCLUSIVE: 'She's not fooling anyone.' Ilhan Omar lives a double life of secret hookups and vacations with her aide https://t.co/U0MN8x4409

Omar traveled back to Minneapolis the morning after one of their nights together and posted a family picture online with her husband Ahmed Hirsi and their three children.
Despite her claims that she requires a near-constant security presence, Omar was often spotted traveling alone with Mynett in his blue Ford Mustang. According to the photographs, Mynett parks his vehicle a couple blocks away from Omar’s apartment, walks to the car alone, and then returns to pick up Omar.
In one case, Omar was seen purchasing dinner at a Chick-Fil-a, a company that Democrats publicly oppose because of its owner’s traditional view of marriage.
A source familiar with the situation who asked to remain anonymous told The Daily Mail that Mynett “is still pretending there is nothing going on but neither of them are fooling anyone.”
“Omar is an elected representative, she is supposed to be transparent and truthful. She needs to be honest about why she’s leaving her marriage and breaking up another one,” the source continued. “Right now they are more or less living together whenever she is in DC. They say they travel as business associates when they are staying in the same hotel rooms. They are even planning a romantic vacation at Christmas.”
The source suspects that when Omar and Mynett finalize their divorces they “will quietly decide to make it official.”
“Maybe then the lies, the hypocrisy, all the sneaking around will finally come to end,” the source added.
Omar denied that she was in a relationship with Mynett and was leaving her husband in a late August interview with WCCO. Since then, however, Omar has filed for divorce from Hirsi while Mynett’s wife, Dr. Beth Mynett, has done the same.
Mrs. Mynett alleged in her divorce filing that her husband’s “more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than with his actual work commitments,” The Minnesota Sun reported.
Mr. Mynett denied telling his wife “he was leaving the marriage for Representative Ilhan Omar or that he was in love with her,” according to a court filing. He also denied “any allegation which characterizes his work-related travel as being related to the furtherance of a relationship with Rep. Omar,” and accused his wife of trying to “ruin his career.”
As of August, Omar’s campaign had paid E Street Group, a consulting firm run by Mr. Mynett, more than $200,000 in funds. His consulting firm was launched just one month before Omar started paying the company for its services.
Federal Election Commission records show that Omar’s political campaign continued to pay Mr. Mynett’s consulting firm in the third quarter of 2019. Between the beginning of July and the end of September, Omar paid E Street Group $146,713 in campaign funds, as The Sun reported.
An FEC complaint was filed against Omar for her apparent use of campaign funds for “romantic companionship.”
“This story isn’t about the personal life of a politician. This story is about a politician who uses her relationships to cover up her misdeeds and disregard for the law,” State Rep. Steve Drazkowski previously told The Sun. “Congresswoman Omar knows that the truth reveals too much about her wrongdoings. As such, you can always expect Rep. Omar’s words and the truth to be 180-degrees apart.”
