The Republican gubernatorial candidates are making whirlwind, last-minute tours of the state in the closing days of the primary election to get out the votes.
Randy Boyd said in a press release, “Too much is at stake and too many people are depending on us. On Primary night, we will always we know we left everything we’ve got on the field and I’m confident if we do, we will win.”
Diane Black released the record-high amount of voter contact conducted by her campaign. Her team has knocked on 503,186 doors and made 460,806 phone calls in all 95 counties, according to a press release.
“I am truly honored by the overwhelming effort of Team Black supporters across the state,” Black said.
Meanwhile, Bill Lee is holding in-person townhalls titled “Roadmap to Victory.”
Lee will begin his final push today with a rally in Memphis at 6:30 a.m. at Another Broken Egg Cafe, 6063 Park Ave., Memphis. He then planned to move on to Jackson, Chattanooga and Jonesborough. He planned to start Election Day in Spencer and hold an Election Night Party at 6:30 p.m. at The Factory in Franklin.

Black announced in a press release she is holding campaign rallies today in each of her field offices across the state. She planned to start the day in East Tennessee with a rally in her Johnson City office at 8 a.m. ET, 240 E. Main Street, Johnson City. Black then planned to visit Knoxville, Chattanooga, Jackson, Memphis and end the day with a rally in Nashville at 6 p.m. CT.

Boyd seems to be taking a different approach with a wrap-up of his bus tour and tele-townhall on Election Day.
Boyd began a “95 Hour Sprint to Election Day” Monday with more than 20 public events across the state and a statewide tele-town hall this evening, before Election Day.
Today’s sprint will begin with a 1:15-2:15 p.m. ET rally at Frank Allen’s Market & Grill, 930 Parkway in Sevierville.

The 95 Hour Sprint will conclude with an Election Night Party in Knoxville at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday at Jackson Terminal that is free and open to the public.

I’m in the ABB “anybody but boyd” camp. I’m a Lee supporter because I’ve known him all my life. His record with me is as close to perfect as one can get. And, I voted for him even though I know Diane Black is a stronger, more proven conservatives. But, anyone who doesn’t believe she’s got baggage is fooling no one else! However, either of these ‘candidates’ would be a far better choice for Tennessee than LaRaza Randy, a big government moderate (at best) who will just be an extension of the ‘lame’ moderate Haslam years! UGH!!
Anyone who is wise enough to be an ABB voter is someone who I respect and I understand that a warm lifelong relationship with Lee absolutely trumps every other consideration. As you said, however, Diane Black is a stronger, more proven conservative so she will get my vote.
The one thing that admittedly surprised me in this election is the lack of polling by the media. I guess Tennessee doesn’t have a population to generate sufficient interest for the national media to do polling and our local media is too broke to afford to do polling.
