U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI)and his staff have spent the past few years looking into allegations of corruption surrounding President Joe Biden; his ne’er do well son Hunter Biden, and others in the Biden family.
The Wisconsin senator says what he, his committee, and others have uncovered is beyond scandalous; it’s cold, calculated corruption.
“At some point in time, it becomes so obvious, even the corrupt and complicit media will have to admit it and start reporting on all this,” Johnson told Fox News host Sean Hannity on his show the night before last Wednesday’s first Republican presidential debate in Milwaukee.
Johnson, ranking member of the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and former chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee for several years, has worked closely with U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on multi-year investigations into Biden family business dealings. Grassley serves as ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The senators last year shared documents and banking records involving the Biden family’s foreign business entanglements they obtained with the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s office, which led the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden. Those records, among others, show financial ties between the president’s son and foreign interests in Ukraine, Russia, China, and elsewhere, suggesting pay-to-play schemes involving Joe Biden when he was vice president.
Johnson’s and Grassley’s offices obtained U.S. Treasury records showing millions of dollars in transactions with Hunter Biden and his associates connected to the money spigot.
The Biden Department of Justice has been accused of stonewalling congressional investigations and shielding the Biden family from legal and political consequences.
Last month, Attorney General Merrick Garland named U.S. Attorney David Weiss special counsel in the Hunter Biden probe, with authority over other matters that have arisen or will arise from his investigation that has spanned five years.
Weiss’ appointment raised alarm bells after a sweetheart deal that would have kept the younger Biden out of prison on tax and gun charges melted beneath public and judicial scrutiny.
House Republicans this week announced they are extending their investigation into Garland’s decision to tap Weiss as special prosecutor. A joint letter from the chairmen of the Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means Committees said the appointment “raises numerous concerns” about the attorney general’s insistence that Weiss had been operating free of political pressure.
“Given the extremely serious nature of these issues, the Committees expect unfettered cooperation with our oversight from both you and the Department,” the letter stated.
Johnson said testimony from Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers and other key evidence points to three scandals.
“We have the scandal of the corrupt Biden family. Then we have corruption of our federal law enforcement covering up for Hunter. Now we got whistleblowers from the IRS investigation,” Johnson told the hosts of the Ruthless podcast on location in Milwaukee the day of the debate.
“The fact that the FBI was pre-sabotaging the revelation that the Hunter Biden laptop existed by giving Senator Grassley and I a defensive briefing, unsolicited, saying we were targets of Russian disinformation to smear us later on. That’s the second scandal,” the senator said of the FBI’s curious activities in the summer of 2020, before the New York Post reported on the discovery of Hunter Biden’s damning laptop. “But probably the most serious scandal, literally, is the complicity and corruption of the media.”
“What always drives me so nuts is that the corruption of the Biden crime family has been so obvious and yet the mainstream media goes, ‘Well, there’s no evidence.’ How much evidence do you need to have?”
