Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Says Biden Won’t Be Impeached

Citing the slim Democratic Party majority in both chambers of congress, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) ignored calls within the Republican Party and insisted President Joe Biden will not be impeached.

“Well, look, the president is not going to be removed from office. There’s a Democratic House, a narrowly Democratic Senate. That’s not going to happen,” he said at an event in his home state.

However, calls rang out from multiple Senators and other GOP elected leaders following the deadly explosion near Hamid Karzai International Airport, the center of U.S. operations to evacuate citizens and Afghan allies.

In the explosion, 13 U.S. military members were killed, and dozens of Afghan citizens were injured.

“It’s time for accountability, starting with those whose failed planning allowed these attacks to occur. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Antony Blinken, Lloyd Austin, and Mark Milley should all resign or face impeachment and removal from office. The only reason we were even forced to defend the Hamid Karzai International Airport was that Joe Biden went against the advice of top military leaders and abandoned Bagram Airfield. The deadly actions of Joe Biden and his national security team put the terrorists in control,” said Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).

Instead, McConnell directed attention to the upcoming, 2022 midterm election. Recent polling has shown that the crisis in Afghanistan has caused Biden’s poll numbers to heavily decline.

According to an ABC News/Ipsos poll, approximately 60% of voters disapprove of Biden’s decision-making surrounding the Afghan withdrawal.

“The report card you get is every two years,” McConnell said of the opportunity to gain seats in the upper chamber. “I think the way these behaviors get adjusted in this country is at the ballot box.”

McConnell claimed some voters may regret voting for Biden.

“I do think we’re likely to see a typical kind of midterm reaction to a new administration. … Typically there is some buyer’s remorse.”

He is correct. Even if the GOP retakes the House in 2022 and passes Articles of Impeachment, it would still take 67 votes in the Senate to remove Biden and that is simply not going to happen.

    1. 83ragtop50

Technically he can be impeached by the House by simple majority but must be convicted by the Senate which requires a 2/3 majority.

    Ditch Mitch.

Mitch McConnell is a warmonger/RINO! Dr Manny Sethi please help Tennesseans by challenging weak Marsha in the senate GOP primary! You are the real conservative! I know you will not follow weak Marsha Blackburn by supporting a RINO as GOP leader as Marsha refuses to call Mitch out publicly for his support of a Trillion dollar spending plan that helps incompetent Joe Biden! Marsha is just silent on the national debt! Marsha has been in Washington since 2003, how much has the debt gone up? As a Tennessean are you better off financially since she has been in office? Is your family enjoying a higher standard of living? I bet Marsha’s standard of living has tremendously improved since she has been in Washington!

    McConnell is a RINO loser!
Senator Hagerty first three votes were in this order:
    1) To elect McConnell as leader for the GOP senate.
    2) Vote to confirm Biden’s Secretary of State Blinken (coward)
    3) Vote to confirm the incompetent Biden Secretary of Defense Austin ( Afghanistan Hot mess)
Hagerty is following little Bob Corker, He is on the senate Foreign Affairs committee! How does that committee help Tennesseans? Did I mention Joe Biden while in the senate served on the same committee? What a great place for Hagerty?

At least weak Marsha only voted for RINO McConnell and Austin!
