State Senator Mark Green (R-Clarksville) announced his complete campaign team for his run to receive the Republican nomination in the 7th Congressional District in a press release issued by his campaign on Thursday:
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Today, Dr. Mark Green announced the team he has assembled to lead his campaign to victory.
Leading the campaign are Darren Morris as General Consultant and Stephen Siao as Campaign Manager. A veteran of many campaigns and longtime public affairs consultant, Morris previously served as the Tennessee State Director and Florida Chief of Staff for President Donald Trump. The Vice Chairman of the Williamson County Republican Party, Siao was the Georgia and Tennessee State Director for Senator Ted Cruz and a manager at Heritage Action.
“I’m thrilled to have assembled the top talent both here in Tennessee and nationally for my campaign for Congress—and to have this team standing in the trenches with me fighting for conservative values,” stated Green.
Robin Smith, owner of Rivers Edge Alliance and a former state chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party, serves as policy advisor to the campaign. The former President of Yes on 1 and former Director of Development for Tennessee Right to Life, Myra Simons, will lead the campaign’s grassroots efforts.
Barney Keller of Jamestown Associates will act as media consultant. Jamestown produced the TV ads for President Trump’s historic campaign in 2016, and counts dozens of members of Congress and many Governors as its clients. Andrew Gordon of Go Big Media, whose cutting-edge work has helped elect many members of Congress, is the digital consultant. Tony Fabrizio and David Lee of Fabrizio, Lee & Associates will be the campaign’s polling firm. Since 2014 alone, FLA has worked directly on the campaigns or independent expenditure efforts that successfully elected 17 U.S. Senators and 6 Republican Governors and served as Chief Pollsters for President Donald J. Trump’s historic upset victory in 2016.
The finance team consists of veteran fundraiser Rachel Barrett to lead the fundraising in Tennessee, and the former NRSC Finance Director Claire Avella as the national fundraiser. Doug Grindstaff, former chairman of the Williamson County Republican Party, will serve as the campaign’s treasurer. Among Green’s 102-member Finance Committee are Lee Beaman, Willis Johnson, Lt. Governor Randy McNally, former Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, and 29 other members of the Tennessee General Assembly.
Since announcing his run for Congress, Republicans across the spectrum have coalesced behind Green’s campaign. Most recently, he was endorsed by leading national groups, the Club for Growth and Family Research Council Action.

Green is currently the only announced candidate for the Republican nomination in the 7th Congressional District.
The seat opens up in 2018, since Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-07) has announced she will be running for the U.S. Senate seat which Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) has said he will not seek to retain in 2018.
Songwriter Lee Thomas Miller is being encouraged by country music industry leaders to enter the race for the Republican nomination in the 7th Congressional District.
Franklin Mayor Ken Moore has decided not to enter the race, and conservative activist Laurie Cardoza Moore is said to be considering entering the race.
The 7th Congressional District is considered a safe Republican seat, and the winner of the August 2018 Republican primary is expected to sail to an easy victory in the November 2016 general election.
Too bad Mark Green voted FOR an Article V Constitutional Convention.
