The Star News Network and Stephen K. Bannon’s WarRoom Monday announced a strategic partnership to cover state, city and county news in battleground states ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
“Our strategic partnership with The Star News Network will enable us to feature stories that highlight the hyper local nature of the precinct strategy, moms taking over school boards, and American patriots becoming election officials. The idea that everyday supporters of MAGA can become an increasingly powerful force within the Republican Party by engaging in the process of selecting committeemen has become a national movement,” Bannon said of the partnership.
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, The Star News Network currently operates 11 state-based digital news sites, including its flagship paper in Tennessee, and papers in Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Florida, among other states.
“The dynamic behind our partnership is that Star News provides what local newspapers and television have ceased to cover – hard hitting political and economic news and analysis. Star News Network is at the cutting edge of this revolution,” Bannon said.
The Star News Network is growing rapidly, and plans to cover 20 states by Election Day of 2022, 40 states by Election Day in 2023, and all 50 states by Election Day in 2024.
“The Star News Network will dramatically expand the reach of our stories through this strategic partnership with WarRoom,” CEO Michael Patrick Leahy said.
The partnership is the manifestation of the massive success realized by WarRoom – one of America’s top radio shows – and The Star News Network’s success in its unique coverage of politics at the state and local level.
The Star extensively covered Virginia’s 2021 gubernatorial race, which was significantly impacted by parents in Loudoun County who banded together in protest of school mask mandates, and against Superintendent Scott Ziegler, who covered up the sexual assault of a teenaged girl by a skirt-wearing boy in a public school bathroom.
That beat was an example of The Star’s hard-hitting state and local news coverage, which covers not only political policy and election politics, but also the impact of America’s ongoing culture war.
