After remaining silent while cities were looted and burned by Black Lives Matter and Antifa last summer, Tennessee’s Democrat Congressmen are suddenly disgusted by “riots,” formerly known as “peaceful protests,” and they are calling for President Donald J. Trump’s removal via the 25th Amendment.
In a Thursday afternoon tweet, Rep. Jim Cooper (D-TN-05) called for Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment against Trump, which would remove him from office:
Tell @VP to #InvokeThe25th. Pass it on. https://t.co/Yo6bwoRApN
— Jim Cooper (@jimcoopertn) January 7, 2021
Cooper was following the lead of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), as Democrats call for Trump’s punishment after Wednesday’s protests in Washington, D.C.
Trump supporters gathered to protest the certification of the election for now-President-elect Joe Biden, and stormed the Capitol building. Lawmakers were forced to barricade themselves in the Capitol building for a short period of time while it was occupied by protestors, until an unarmed woman, Ashli Babbitt, was shot and killed by police. The crowd dispersed shortly thereafter.
In fact, Cooper’s Twitter timeline is a litany of condemnation of Wednesday’s protests.
“I have to admit It was pretty scary… the police seemed overwhelmed, outnumbered, and sometimes complicit,” Cooper said in an interview with Tennessee Holler.

“We need impeachment. We need the 25th Amendment,” Cooper said in the same interview.

He also dramatically compared Wednesday’s protests to the War of 1812, according to Yue Stella Yu of The Tennesseean.
NEW: @repjimcooper compared today's riots to the War of 1812.
"I've never seen (anything like it) in my lifetime," Cooper said. "It may be the worst incident of violence since the British burned the Capitol" in 1814.

But when civil unrest hit Nashville after the death of George Floyd last summer, which even left-wing Rolling Stone described as a “riot,” Cooper was silent. He did not call for the removal of his brother, John Cooper, the Democrat Mayor of Nashville. In fact, he did not call for the removal of any sitting politician.
The Tennessee Star reached out to Cooper’s office to ask if he would condemn all political violence. That comment request was not returned.
Tennessee’s other Democrat Congressman, Steve Cohen (D-TN-09) took a similar tune Wednesday night, calling for the invocation of the 25th Amendment against Trump.
“He is detached from everything but himself. Always been about him; never the country,” adding the hashtags #ImpeachTrumpNow and #25thAmendmentNow.

He also described Trump as an “enemy of America,” and the president’s supporters as “Trump’s rebel guard” in a later tweet.
Tonight we will fulfill our constitutional duty to certify this election, even after Trump’s rebel guard stormed the People’s House. Trump is an enemy of America but America won. pic.twitter.com/zeoD8hmxVG
— Steve Cohen (@RepCohen) January 7, 2021
But there have been no such theatrics from Cohen, whose district includes Memphis, during the years of Black Lives Matter and Antifa unrest there, which dates all the way back to 2015.
The Tennessee Star also reached out to Cohen’s office to ask if he would condemn all political violence. Like Cooper’s, his office did not respond to that inquiry.
Democrats writ-large have been calling for Trump’s impeachment and removal since Wednesday evening. They appear miffed that some of the president’s supporters caused property damage at the Capitol building. Such property damage, when inflicted upon private businesses and homes in major cities across America last summer, was not a concern to Democrats or their friends in the leftist media.
“If the 25th amendment is not invoked today, Congress must reconvene immediately for impeachment and removal proceedings,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14) said on Twitter Thursday.

That was a strikingly different tune than her encouragement of Black Lives Matter and Antifa protests from just over a month ago.
“The thing that critics of activists don’t get is that they tried playing the ‘polite language’ policy game and all it did was make them easier to ignore,” she said in December. “It wasn’t until they made folks uncomfortable that there was traction to do ANYTHING even if it wasn’t their full demands.”
“The whole point of protesting is to make [people] uncomfortable,” she continued.
The whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable.
Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows.
To folks who complain protest demands make others uncomfortable… that’s the point.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) December 2, 2020
Some Democrats have taken it a step further than Ocasio-Cortez and her colleagues from Tennessee.
Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI-01), along with Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA-33) and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD-08) has drafted articles of impeachment.
“NEW: I am circulating Articles of Impeachment that [Rep. Ted Lieu], [Rep. Jamie Raskin] and I have prepared to remove the president from office following yesterday’s attack on the U.S. Capitol,” Cicilline announced Thursday afternoon.

The newest articles of impeachment are another ploy in a string of assaults on the Trump presidency.
The Democrats successfully impeached Trump in 2019, but lacked the requisite amount of votes in the U.S. Senate to remove him from office. Before that, they bogged the Trump administration down by incessantly accusing him of illegally conspiring with Russian President Vladimir Putin to rig the 2016 election.

This is a total effort to show anyone, outside the political establishment of both the Democrat and Republican parties, that running for high office will not be accepted by the political establishment. This why the bastard RINOs, including Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, stabbed President Trump in back. We the people are at the mercy of whatever political establishment Democrat and Republican want to put on us poor little knaves. They believe they are better than us as clearly demonstrated by their actions.
Pay close attention good citizens! When they talk about “punishing” Trump, they are really talking about punishing YOU, for thinking that an outsider could be President!
But this is laughable! If Trump is as savvy as most think, he has several “insurance” policies already stashed away. You can bet that he knows where a bunch of the “bodies are buried”! Plus, do they really think that they can get 66 Senators (that includes 16 Republicans) to vote for impeachment? Remember at least 34 Senators come up for reelection in 2022. 20 Republicans and 14 Democrats, plus a boat load of House seats will be up for grabs. Trump will be more of a force as a private citizen. Imagine 1 million people coming to a rally in support of an unknown candidate who Trump endorses. Food for thought!
These are soft targets btw.
The leftist degeneracy evil is definitely caused by a gene. Just look at these two twins.
Is this part of the Gestapo raids on state level Tennessee Republicans today?
Welcome to modern day Nazi German!
Hate that the people died but I don’t think it’s a totally bad thing to rattle the cage of the D.C. establishment. Maybe it will focus their attention on acting more respectful to each other.
The media elite and political elite have been talking trash to each other for years. They are modeling behavior for the rest of us. Rude behavior is uncalled for especially at the top.
Everyone is blaming Trump for what happened at the White House. I don’t see him holding a gun to anyone’s head. Is it possible the riot could have been staged by someone who’s been trying to get Trump out of office from the beginning? Anyone can buy a flag and wave it, doesn’t mean that’s how they really feel.
We are going under a new level of occupation, make no mistake about it.
Trump only has 13 days left, why would they even bother? Maybe it is because he is threatening to release classified information that shows criminal involvement of this stolen election by our elected officials? The deep state is concerned.
BTW, can someone ask the TN Democrats what they think about the “cleansing” the left is talking about of Trump supporters? Does that mean re-education camps or will these be the people chosen to starve once resources become scarce when socialism is implemented? Fall in behind us or else?
the tennessee democrats are just like the n y democrats. they could care less about you. these two blood suckers are out for their good not yours.
they better understand next time their is a protest in washington directed at their bolshevik ways the peasant may come with more than pitchforks. it is really reached that point and they are concerned about impeachment and cleansing us.
this movement is not dead and never will be. they need to quit insulting us, maybe they can relish in todays job report that shows a loss of 140.000 jobs. i hope senile joe and the hoe can fix that as it is a sign og things to come.
how about we remove these two clowns
We might have had the opportunity to remove Copper from office last November, EXCEPT THERE WAS NO REPUBLICAN RUNNING AGAINST HIM!
Yeah, I wrote in “Hortense Wifflezipper” rather than vote for him, but I just a nut job that is stuck with him “representing” me. I am frustrated that I have to put up with him, again, because I was given no viable alternative.
I doubt anyone from the local Republican party is reading this, though.
I’m having trouble working up much sympathy…you’ve really got it pretty good in TN…both Senators and a majority of your Reps are Republicans…some probably RINOs, but that’s still better then a donk, which is what we have here in MA for 100% of both Senators and Reps, and if you added up all of their IQs the total would probably be less than that of the Cooper nitwits. I’m not sure there’s even a single functional brain cell among the whole lot of them. So the next time you want to whine about the Coopers, just imagine what it would be like to have Elizabeth Warren (aka Pocahontas) and Ed Markey as your Senators.
Have you noticed that elected officials on both sides are calling for everything except fair and honest elections? It kind of makes you wonder where their priorities are
Yep, Roger, Joe Biden admitted vote fraud was the plan before the fact:
