The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition (TNFFC) applauded Governor Bill Lee for signing an anti-human trafficking bill into law on Friday.
Under the bill (HB7041/SB7088), the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is required to “submit a report on child and human trafficking crimes and trends in this state, based upon data available to the bureau, as well as current programs and activities of the bureau’s human trafficking unit, to the governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the speaker of the senate by December 1, 2023, and by each December 1 thereafter.”
As noted by the TNFFC, the bill will essentially allow government and law enforcement on December 1st to have a “good idea of where the issue stands currently, and with those benchmarks and baseline information that the report provides, the debate can then commence over how much to spend and what priorities to fund.”

In a statement, the TNFFC said it was “extremely grateful” for Lee’s action on the bill, saying the governor “kept his word” on his prior vow to “make the fight to end Modern-Day Slavery in Tennessee a priority for the August Special Session of the General Assembly.”
“We look forward to continuing the fight to save children, women, and even men – together with Governor Lee and our conservative General Assembly…This is just the beginning of a robust slate of legislation that we will pursue, working with Governor Lee, his team, and our conservative friends in the General Assembly for the January Regular Session where we aim to thrust a knife through the heart of the child and human trafficking industry in the state of Tennessee,” the group continued.
“This fight is FOR children and FOR women. We will never rest until all children, women, and even men are safe from being victimized by the scourge that is child and human trafficking in Tennessee,” TNFFC added.
The bill, which passed the Tennessee House of Representatives in an 86-1 vote and the Tennessee State Senate in a 26-0 vote last week, was the first bill of the special session to pass both houses and go to the governor for his signature.

RINO puke hits a good lick now and then.
I too am happy that Mr. Lee signed this bill BUT really did it warrant the cost of a special session. After all the Assembly will convene for the regular session in 4 months!
now release Audrey Hale’s manifesto Governor Lee…..
