Tennessee Officials React to Hunter Biden’s Guilty Verdict

Hunter Biden

Some of Tennessee’s federal lawmakers Tuesday reacted to the news that Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, was convicted on felony gun charges.

The younger Biden was found guilty of making a false statement in the purchase of a gun, making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a federally licensed gun dealer, and possession of a gun by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance in a federal court in Wilmington, Delaware.

Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) said on X that the conviction was a distraction.

“Biden DOJ is trying to distract Americans from the $20 million the Biden family raked in from China, Russia, Ukraine, etc. Can Joe Biden explain what the money was for?” he asked.

He followed that with a similar post.

“Biden DOJ covered this up until IRS whistleblowers disputed Merrick Garland’s April 2022 statement to me that Biden DOJ wasn’t blocking Biden charges,” he said. “But what about the $20 million Bidens got from China, Russia Ukraine, etc.? That’s what Joe Biden doesn’t want to talk about.”

Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) noted that intelligence officials lied to the American people about the origin of Biden’s legal woes – a laptop left at a repair shop in Wilmington with damning photos of himself on the hard drive.

“The courts just found Hunter Biden guilty on gun charges,” he said. “Now Congress needs to condemn the intelligence community for lying to voters and covering up the story about Hunter’s laptop to help his father win an election.”

When the content of Hunter Biden’s laptop emerged in October 2020, leading up to his father’s November showdown with former President Donald Trump, the contents were dismissed by 51 American intelligence agencies as “Russian disinformation.”

Though the information proved authentic, representatives for those agencies stood by their false assertion as late as Monday.

Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden released a statement on Hunter’s conviction:

As I said last week, I am the president, but I am also a dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today. So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery. As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal. Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that.

Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison.

This is nothing more than a “Red Herring” designed to direct focus away from Joe Biden and millions he reaped in collusion with Hunter regarding monies from China, Ukraine and Russia. This also temporarily buried the laptop in which entries confirm Joe Biden was well aware, and a participant in, secret deals with these countries. That the presence of the laptop was initially denied, then claimed to be falsely programmed, the DOJ and the FBI should be thoroughly investigated. Who, those agencies knew what and when did they know it. If they willingly knew, thus interfered with the 2020 election, they should be fully prosecuted. They were not working the position in which they were taxpayer paid. The penalty must include surrendering their taxpayer funded pension back to the treasury along with potential incaceration.
