Tennessee Congressman John Rose (R-TN-06) voted in favor of House Resolution 5 on Monday. This resolution adopts the rules governing the U.S. House of Representatives. The rules package passed the House by a 220-213 vote.
Above all, the Republican majority’s rules will work to:
- Reopen the People’s House
- Restore Freedom and Security
- Hold Government Accountable
- Ensure Fiscal Responsibility to Combat Inflation
- Build a Transparent and Effective House of Representatives
Republicans’ new rules in the House turn the page on the era of backroom dealmaking and centralized power favored by Democrats and Nancy Pelosi.

“Republicans’ new rules in the House turn the page on the era of backroom dealmaking and centralized power favored by Democrats and Nancy Pelosi,” Rose said. “They encourage robust debate that will seem refreshing to the American people eager for transparency and change within their government.”
Rose further stated that he is “very much looking forward to participating in the open amendment process that will allow Middle Tennesseans the opportunity to have their voice heard on the House Floor and the return of ‘Calendar Wednesdays,’ which will make it much easier for Committees to bring bills to the floor without the sign-off of Leadership.”
Rose also voted Monday evening to help pass a bill that would repeal funding for 87,000 new Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents included in the Inflation Reduction Act signed into law by President Joe Biden last year.
The bill, titled the “Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act” passed by a 221-210 vote.
Republicans just passed our first bill in the majority.
We're repealing the funding for 87,000 new IRS agents.
The last thing President Joe Biden needs is more IRS officers to target and harass hardworking, middle-class Tennesseans.

“Republicans are committed to restoring accountability within our federal government, and there is no government agency less accountable to the American people than the IRS,” Rose stated. “Democrats have long used the IRS and the tax code as political weapons, targeting conservative groups during the Obama Administration and recently releasing Former President Trump’s private tax returns.”

Thank you Representative Rose. The new House Rules quite frankly dismantled the process Pelosi and her lemmings implemented. It is nice seeing actual debate on the House floor. Regarding defunding the 87,000 IRS agents, thank you! The positions were in no way promoted by Biden to collect monies from the wealthy. They were solely developed to fleece all Americans, with the middle class bearing the brunt, to pay for Demented Joe and his party’s reckless spending. This new House can also pull the funding on Biden wanting to forgive student loans. That plan too, was deceitful at best as the benefactors of the forgiveness would be largely those from wealthy families. That debt doesn’t simply vanish, it is shifted to the working class, generally those who could not afford college for themselves or their family members. Again, thank you to this new House!
those are good burgers Walter
Sounds good on the surface. I surely hope there is some real meat to all of this hoopla. Time to sit back and observe closely.
