With a graphic emblazoned across a map of Tennessee saying “Good-bye Roe, hello Dobbs,” Tennessee Right to Life and its county chapters have been celebrating one year since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court ruling that gave individual states the right to make their own abortion laws.
“More than 10,000 children have been saved from abortion in our state this first year! Let us rejoice and be glad,” the organization said on its website. “Let us make a joyful noise to the Lord and let us re-commit ourselves to keeping Tennessee a safe place for unborn children and their mothers!”
Tennessee Right to Life then linked to its county-level affiliates for updates on what those counties are doing to celebrate.
Last week, Greater Chattanooga Right to Life held a prayer breakfast in celebration.
“Let us rejoice and be glad. Let us make a joyful noise to the Lord and let us re-commit ourselves to keeping Tennessee a safe place for unborn children and their mothers. This is cause to celebrate and give God praise!” the invitation to that gathering said. “Greater Chattanooga Right to Life invites you [to] join us for a Prayer & Praise Breakfast. Donuts, pastries, coffee & juice will be served, followed by prayer & praise.”
Knox County, Lawrence County, Wilson County and Shelby County all celebrated in a similar fashion, all on June 24.
On the same day, Rutherford County celebrated with a pro-life picnic that included a bluegrass festival complete with food, drinks, giveaways, and pro-life guest speakers.
Sevier County held what it called a “Care in Faith Family Wellness” event.
Tennessee Right to Life also shared photos of other pro-life gatherings from around the state.

“We are celebrating that with the Dobbs decision, our Tennessee law now reflects our Tennessee values and protects the right to life of our most vulnerable citizens,” said Tennessee Right to Life president Stacy Dunn told Lifesitenews.com amid the celebrations. “These events will allow pro-life Tennesseans to celebrate Dobbs and to recommit ourselves to working for a day when abortion is not only illegal but unthinkable. The Supreme Court decision last year was only the beginning.”
