Tennessee Senators Introduce Bill to Force Biden to Follow Immigration Law

Two U.S. senators have filed a bill to require President Joe Biden’s administration to follow current immigration law.

Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN), along with counterparts from other states, introduced the Reshape Alternatives to Detention (ATD) Act, which is designed to monitor potentially dangerous illegal aliens with a GPS ankle bracelet.

“Every alien on the non-detained docket shall be enrolled into the Alternatives to Detention program with mandatory GPS monitoring throughout the duration of all applicable immigration proceedings (including any appeals) and until removal, if order removed,” the bill says.

The senators not only want to ensure that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) fills every available detention bed before resorting to the use of ATD monitoring, but they also want to expand the program by “ensuring that illegal aliens on the non-detained docket are enrolled in ATD and GPS monitoring for the duration of their immigration proceedings,” according to a press release.

Further, the bill says that anyone who is part of an ATD program and breaks any law, including removing their monitoring device and absconding, will be rearrested. In such a case, local law enforcement must be notified and given authority to arrest the illegal alien, which would normally fall only under ICE’s purview.

Blackburn and Hagerty accuse the Biden administration of attempting to evade current ATD laws with “social programs” like ICE’s Young Adult Case Management Program.

ICE’s Young Adult Case Management Program (YACMP) “focuses on helping participants 18 to 19 years of age navigate the immigration process and “is a less restrictive setting for noncitizens who are released from DHS custody and does not include electronic monitoring.”

“Since his first day in office, President Biden has refused to enforce the law by releasing millions of illegal immigrants – including those with terrorist ties – into our country,” Blackburn said. “The Alternatives to Detention Program was not designed to allow illegal immigrants to roam freely across the country, and the Reshape ATD Act would end the Biden administration’s abuse of this program once and for all.”

Hagerty echoed a similar sentiment.

“The Biden Administration has allowed a tidal wave of illegal aliens to come across our southern border, which has created an unprecedented national security and humanitarian crisis,” he said. “Yet rather than use all available tools to address the issue, Biden’s DHS is refusing to enforce the laws already on the books and making clear efforts to dismantle detention and allow illegal immigrants to roam free throughout the U.S. by abusing ATD. I’m pleased to introduce legislation to require the Administration to combat record-high illegal immigration and help secure our southern border.”

The New York Post reported that Jose Ibarra, the illegal alien from Venezuela who allegedly murdered 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, was being tracked under the ATD program with an ankle monitor before cutting it off and absconding.

Seems to me America would be better served if a President refused to enforce the law they would lose the ability to sign any new billls until the complied with the current laws. In addition to signing any executive orders to getting around congress.

Biden is clearly an agent of the Corporation, U.S.A. Inc.
