Tennessee Star Report Gets Exclusive Insights Into North Dakota Senate Race from Chris Berg

On Monday’s Tennessee Star Report with Steve Gill and Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 am to 8:00 am – the duo talked with Fargo, North Dakota’s Valley News LIVE news anchor and host of Point of View Chris Berg, about Lindsey Graham eating his power breakfast and whether or not Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) will be able to walk the ‘tight rope’ and please her constituents by voting to confirm President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

“So we are releasing a brand new poll today at six o’clock which will show you, I don’t want to give away and get ahead of our news department obviously and, let’s put it this way, if she does not vote (Heitkamp), assuming that there’s no major revelations here out of this extended FBI investigation so, assuming there’s no new information with that, if she does not vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh she will be voting for her own retirement,” Berg said.

[NOTE: Later on Monday, Valley News Live and Strategic Resources Associates released the poll that shows Republican Kevin Cramer leads Heitkamp by 10 points, 51 percent to 41 percent, in the North Dakota Senate race.]

Berg noted the lack of fairness of the Kavanaugh hearings and how they are being perceived by folks in North Dakota and abroad.

“I think people, are you know, if you really dive into this, and again you know the three of us eat sleep and breathe this stuff I think the average person that sees a headline is trying to digest exactly what’s going on,” Berg said; adding, “And you see the mainstream media try to spin it on the Republicans, saying ‘They should extend this FBI investigation, can’t believe they don’t want to do that for women.’ ”

Berg pressed on to talk about how the Democrats have pushed an obviously growing political sham by using Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as both a victim and political pawn for their own agenda.

Berg was saddened when he stated, “Her lawyers never told her that the Judiciary Committee would come to her, things of that nature that make you, know what, as much as people want to portray the Democrats as really standing up and fighting for women, unfortunately in my opinion this woman was victimized and she was used as a political pawn. She said she never wanted her name to get out in the public. And Dianne Feinstein could have upheld that agreement with her and done the right thing and gotten to the bottom of this with some extra time instead of unfortunately this woman as I said, was just being used.”

Berg concluded, “Clearly something happened to Dr. Ford.  I mean, I don’t care who you are.  To get up in front of the world and testify about an alleged sexual assault.  To share your story, to be questioned by a very well trained prosecutor.  I mean, to me that takes a lot of courage to get up and do that.  Now we’ll see what this FBI investigation bears out.  I think all three of us here have laid out an interesting story line considering when they say ‘hey this isn’t political.’
