Tennessee U.S. Representatives John Rose (R-TN-06) and Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) have announced which guests will accompany them to President Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union Address on Thursday.
Burchett’s guest will be Shawn Ryan, host of The Shawn Ryan Show and former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor.

“My guest for the State of the Union will be @ShawnRyan762, host of the @ShawnRyanShow. He’s a former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor, and he uses his platform to help veterans in lots of different ways,” Burchett wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “He’s served his country well, and I’m looking forward to having him here.”
Ryan replied to Burchett’s invitation, saying, “I’m honored and humbled brother. You are a class act. Thank you.”
Rose’s guest will be the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury, Jason Mumpower.
“Washington is in dire need of some of Tennessee’s closely-held value of fiscal responsibility,” Rose said in a statement. “That’s why it is my honor to invite Tennessee’s Comptroller of the Treasury as my guest to President Biden’s State of the Union. As Comptroller of the Treasury, he has ensured the fiscal integrity of Tennessee remains a model for the rest of the country—especially the federal government—and I hope his presence in the House Chamber will inspire and remind the President of our country’s need to adopt fiscal constraint like we have in Tennessee.”
Mumpower said he was “honored” to be invited as Rose’s guest to the president’s speech, adding, “Like Congressman Rose, I recognize our nation is at a crossroads from a financial standpoint. I hope that President Biden and the Congress will look to Tennessee as a positive example of the success conservative fiscal management can bring.”
Other guests invited to attend Biden’s State of the Union Address by Tennessee congressional delegation members include Governor Bill Lee, who will accompany U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), and Daily Wire host Michael Knowles, who will accompany Congressman Andy Ogles (R-TN-05).
