Tennessee’s U.S. Congressional Delegation Sworn into 118th Congress

All nine representatives serving Tennessee were sworn into the 118th Congress following the chamber’s vote for house speaker.

Tennessee’s Congressional Delegation serving in the 118th Congress consists of:

  • Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01)
  • Tim Burchett (R-TN-02)
  • Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03)
  • Scott DesJarlais (R-TN-04)
  • Andy Ogles (R-TN-05)
  • John Rose (R-TN-06)
  • Mark Green (R-TN-07)
  • David Kustoff (R-TN-08)
  • Steve Cohen (D-TN-09)

Rose, who is serving his third term in Congress, released a statement after taking the oath of office.

“It is an extreme honor to take the oath of office to continue serving the people of Tennessee’s Sixth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives,” Rose stated. “As Republicans are sworn into the majority in the U.S. House, I am optimistic about the opportunity to enact policies that encourage job growth, fight inflation, defend our borders, protect law enforcement, preserve our constitution, and hold Washington accountable to the American people.”

Kustoff, who is serving his fourth term in Congress, also released a statement, saying in part, “It is an honor to represent West Tennessee in the 118th Congress. Thank you for trusting me to be your voice in Washington. I remain committed to ensuring that Tennessee’s Eighth Congressional District remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Yes, Every Kid

Burchett, who is serving his third term in Congress, said on Saturday that he was “excited to kick off the 118th Congress and reign in reckless spending, address the border crisis, and fight the woke agenda.”

On Twitter, DesJarlais, who has served in Congress since 2011, thanked his constituents for the “opportunity to serve” Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District.

During the chamber’s 15th round of voting that took place late Friday night, California Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-CA-20) garnered enough votes to secure the role of Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. McCarthy had earned the vote of every Republican representative by the 12th round of voting, The Tennessee Star previously reported.

Now to sit back and observe if they actually support the efforts to advance conservative legislation. It would be nice to see some of them in the Freedom Caucus.

Joe, Scott DesJarlais and Marvelous Mark Green are in the Freedom Caucus.

Other than Mad Man Cohen (Heritage-8%) and Chattanooga Squish Fleischmann (74%), that’s Harschbarger-(100%!!!!), Rose (99%!!!), Burchett (95%), DesJarlais (89%), Kustoff (89%), Green (87%), and Ogles (I say future 95%+). I’ve been in Tennessee since 1992 and that is the most conservative Tennessee House delegation yet. GOOD JOB Tennessee conservatives!

Oooops my bad. Marvelous Mark Green has a lifetime Heritage score of 97% not 87%.
