The popular restaurant chain, Texas Roadhouse, is opening a new location in Powell, Tennessee this year and will employ 230 workers. The chain is best known for its steaks, ribs, and fresh-baked rolls with garlic butter.
The new location in north-west Knoxville is being built at 7559 Conner Road in Powell and will be open for dine in and take out, according to Store Opening Hours. Construction on the new 8,334 square foot restaurant began in 2021 and is expected to open for business in March of this year.
The new Texas Roadhouse location is currently hiring for full-time and part-time workers. Those interested can apply online at the Texas Roadhouse website. At this time, interviews are taking place in the nearby La Quinta hotel lobby located at 7534 Conner Road in Powell. Walk-ins are accepted, according to a spokesperson cited by WVLT8. Once the parking lot of the new restaurant is completed, interviews will be conducted in a trailer in the parking lot.
The first Texas Roadhouse opened in Clarksville, Indiana in 1993. Since then, the restaurant chain has opened more than 610 locations in 49 states and 10 foreign countries. According to the restaurant chain, Texas Roadhouse’s average 5,000 guests per week, which is one of the highest in the industry, and serve about 300,000 meals per day.
In 2020, Texas Roadhouse was named one of America’s Best Employers for Veterans by Forbes. Texas Roadhouse also ranked sixth on FSR Magazine’s Top 50 list of Full-Service Restaurants within the US. Additionally, in 2019, the restaurant chain was recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Customer Service Restaurants in the Casual Dining category.
