The organizers of a Milwaukee-area event on the dangers of woke indoctrination say they’re working with local law enforcement after receiving a number of threats.
Meanwhile, a theater in suburban Chicago has canceled a “reforming sex education” event after reportedly being bombarded with threats.
“Stolen Innocence: A Panel on the Insidious Ideology Infecting Your Children’s Education”, is scheduled for 6-9 p.m., Thursday at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee, in Waukesha County.
Alexandra Schweitzer, host of the event and a member of sponsor Parents on Patrol, said organizers are aware of potential plans by liberal activists to disrupt the planned discussion. She said the event would go on as scheduled.
“We have taken the necessary precautions to protect our attendees and speakers,” Schweitzer said in a statement. “We are working with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, the Waukesha Police Department, and have hired additional private security.”
She reminded “all would-be agitators” that the session is being held on private property with a No Weapons on Premises policy. Guests will be asked to present IDs with their tickets, and all purses/bags will be subject to search.
“We encourage attendance with an open heart and mind. This is an important topic and there is much to learn from the panel of experts,” Schweitzer said.
The panel includes Chloe Cole, 18, who was just 15 years old when she said she was coerced into taking puberty blockers and having her breasts surgically removed. Cole de-transitioned when she was 16. Today she is a passionate activist against transgenderism, and the gender-identity ideology that she says is routinely making victims out of young people like herself.
Other panelists include:
- Jaimee Michell, founder and president of Gays Against Groomers — a coalition of gays against the sexualization, indoctrination and medicalization of Children, according to the group’s website.
- Sara Higdon, an Army veteran and Bronze Star recipient who, as a transexual woman, hosts the TRANSform to Freedom podcast and is communications director for Trans Against Groomers.
- Jeanette Cooper, co-founder of Partners for Ethical Care. Its mission, according to its website,is to “raise awareness and support efforts to stop the unethical treatment of children by schools, hospitals, and mental and medical healthcare providers under the duplicitous banner of gender identity affirmation. We believe that no child is born in the wrong body.”
- Cory Brewer, attorney at the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty focusing on legal and policy issues related to K-12 education. The Milwaukee-based public interest law firm has done a lot of legal work in the field of parental rights.
As Fox News Digital reported over the weekend, the Des Plaines Theater in the Chicago suburb pulled the plug on a panel discussion on reforming sex education, scheduled for early next month by conservative activist group Awake Illinois.
“Awake Illinois learned the Des Plaines Theater opted to halt the contract of the ‘Coalition For Kids’ event originally scheduled for February 8, 2023,” Awake Illinois said in a press statement. “Due to threats of physical violence directed at the venue and participants, this decision was made by Onesti Entertainment, which has no affiliation with our organization.”
Shannon Adcock, founder and president of Awake Illinois, told Fox News Digital that theater management told her they received a bullet in the mail, among other death threats.
“I was really proud to be able to provide an opportunity for a forum for some positive, hopefully positive, or what I thought would be possible discussions,” theater operator Ron Onesti told ABC 7.
