Tillerson Out at State Department, Pompeo In

In a surprise announcement made on his Twitter account at 7:44 am central time on Tuesday morning, President Trump announced that Rex Tillerson is out as Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo is in.

The former Exxon CEO served in his post as Secretary of State for barely a year, and was said to be frequently on the outside of major foreign policy decisions made by President Trump.

Reports indicated that he was not aware that President Trump had arranged to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in person until after the announcement was made public last week.

I appreciate the hard job Rex had taking over from John Kerry and his spineless “USA last” State Department. Talk about a thankless job. And President Trump is more entertaining to watch than he would be to work for, I would think. We do live in interesting times.
