U.S. farm industry groups are seeking an exemption from President-elect Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans once he takes office.
The groups argue that mass deportations could disrupt the nation’s food supply chain.
Tom Homan, Trump’s incoming White House border advisor or “border czar,” has not said that the Trump administration is considering such exemptions.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor and Department of Agriculture, almost half of the nation’s farm workers do not have a lawful immigration status.
Dave Puglia, president and CEO of Western Growers, which represents produce farmers, said his group supports the Trump administration focusing resources on deporting illegal immigrants with criminal records, according to the Associated Press.

While there may be an issue with finding workers to harvest crops, having illegal aliens do it is not acceptable. These people just send their money back where they came from and do not contribute financially, i.e. pay income tax. And add to that if their family came here as well, they most likely are sucking up welfare that could be spent on real Americans.
I’m sick and tired of hearing the MSM going on about how the republicans wouldn’t vote for the democrats immigration bill, to make it sound (as usual) as this whole illegal immigration problem is the fault of the right. BS, the donks bill would have granted citizenship to millions of illegal aliens.
If we need workers that bad, streamline the “green card” process, and make sure these people are paying for the government services they are taking advantage of while they are working in America. AND NO WELFARE FOR THEIR FAMILIES IF THEY COME WITH THEM!
I can hardly wait for the DOGE crew to start cleaning up Washington DC. That is as long as the deep state and military don’t attempt a coup against President Trump first.
Perhaps the headline should read, “US farm industry groups want permission to continue exploiting illegal border crossers”
