Arizona lawmakers voiced their opinions following a Georgia grand jury indictment of former President Donald Trump.
A Georgia grand jury approved 10 indictments in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ election probe, which included Trump, who is running for president, along with 18 others.
The indictments come two and a half years after Willis began looking into Trump’s attempts to challenge Georgia’s results of the 2020 presidential election.
According to the Trump campaign, this indictment is being brought against him for election interference.
“They could have brought this 2 1/2 years ago, yet they chose to do this for election interference reasons in the middle of President Trump’s successful campaign. He is not only leading all Republicans by a lot but he is leading against Biden in almost every poll. President Trump represents the greatest threat to these Democrats’ political futures (and the greatest hope for America),” the Trump campaign said following the indictment.
Maricopa County Republican Committee Chairman Craig Berland said that the repetitive and ridiculous indictments against Trump are getting old and are election interference.
“Their objective remains the same: take down both President Trump and Candidate Trump, one and the same, at any and all costs. The plot, the setting, and the cast of characters may be different this time around but it’s just another classic case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). TDS on steroids. Out-and out-obsessive-compulsive behavior. These people are sick,” Berland said.
“I pray for these people. The persistent prosecutorial overreach targeting President Trump exposes the enemies of our great constitutional Republic, the rigged two-tier justice system, and the institutions haunted by a toxic culture of corruption. Although this in-your-face push towards tyranny grows bolder, our resolve grows even stronger,” Berland added. “We will never give up, never give in, and never fall for any absurd and abusive persecution of a fellow patriotic American for simply promoting a commonsense America First agenda. As close as we are to the 2024 Election, the other side’s ongoing ridiculous nonsense is obvious election interference.
Arizona Republican politician and former candidate for Arizona Governor Kari Lake said the charges against Trump in Georgia are a complete joke.
“What an absolute joke. We see right through the corrupt injustice system. There is no amount of sham indictments that will get, We The People, to abandon President Donald J Trump. We have his back because he’s always had ours. We The People won’t abandon him,” Lake said.
State Senator Janae Shamp (R-Suprise) said this indictment only fires up the American people even more to fight against this tyranny.
“Thank you Donald Trump for exposing what has been done to our once great Nation and especially our First Amendment Rights. You have impassioned We The People to fight back against the tyranny. We stand with you and pray that together we can make America great again,” Shamp said.
According to U.S. Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ-05), this indictment is a political sham.
“Witch hunt. The American people see straight through these sham political weapons,” Biggs said.
State Senator Anthony Kern (R-Glendale) said he “Stands with Trump” during this indictment.
State Senator Wendy Rogers (R-Flagstaff) commented that Trump said earlier this month that he only needed one more indictment against him to win the presidency in 2024.
“One more indictment,” Rogers said.
Trump has already been indicted on 37 counts for allegedly retaining classified government documents and obstruction of justice in the “boxes hoax,” even though President Joe Biden has also faced scrutiny for his alleged mishandling of classified materials. Last month, he entered a not-guilty plea to all of the accusations.
Separately, Trump faces 34 counts in New York for his alleged use of hush money in connection with porn star Stormy Daniels.
