Ohio GOP Chairman Discusses Vision for State to Bring ‘Strong Conservative’ Leaders to Washington

Alex Triantafilou, the newly elected head of the Ohio Republican Party, stopped in Hillsboro for the Highland County Republican Party‘s annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Wednesday to discuss his positive vision for the Ohio Republican Party moving forwards.

According to Triantafilou, one of his primary focuses for the party is removing U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and President Joe Biden from office.

The chairman said that the Ohio Republican Party’s strong principles and values throughout the state will help to defeat these Democratic politicians in the 2024 election and bring strong conservative leaders to Washington.

Triantafilou discussed impending plans for the party while at the dinner. He also applauded the Highland County Republican Party for their crucial efforts ahead of the 2024 election cycle.

“Our party is strong because of the principles and values that run deep in communities across Ohio, including right here in Highland County,” Triantafilou said.

Also, he urged the party to participate in the primaries and choose a candidate for Ohio’s U.S. Senate seat. Brown will be running for re-election in 2024. Triantafilou wants a Republican contender to take the senator’s place.

Biden is also up for re-election in 2024. The president has said he intends to run for a second term but has not officially announced his candidacy. Three Republican contenders have also announced their presidential bids, including former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and Ohio native entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

Triantafilou said he looks forward to replacing Biden with a strong conservative candidate.

“I look forward to working with each and every one of you to defeat Joe Biden and send another strong conservative to fight alongside J.D. Vance in the U.S. Senate,” Triantafilou said.

These plans echo Triantafilou’s priorities he stated upon his election as chairman on January 6th.

“I will do everything in my power to advance the cause of the Republican Party in Ohio for victory. That’s what it’s all about,” Triantafilou said.

Triantafilou served as chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party since 2008, as well as a Hamilton County prosecutor and a judge on two courts. Before serving as a judge, Triantafilou served as vice-chairman of the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign. He is a former president of the Green Township Republican Club and a former member of the Republican executive and judicial screening committee. Triantafilou replaced the previous Ohio Republican Party Chairman, Bob Paduchik.
