Ohio GOP Chairman Triantafilou Calls President Biden’s Re-Election Campaign ‘Ill-Advised’

Alex Triantafilou, the newly elected head of the Ohio Republican Party, responded to the announcement that President Joe Biden is running for reelection, calling it “ill-advised.”

“Plain and simple – Joe Biden is not fit for office,” Triantafilou said Tuesday evening.

Biden announced his re-election campaign early on Tuesday, stating that he will stand up for democracy and fundamental freedoms.

“Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours. That’s why I’m running for reelection as President of the United States. Join us. Let’s finish the job,” Biden wrote on Twitter in his announcement.

According to Triantafilou, Biden’s failed policies and radical agenda are a total disaster for the people of Ohio.

“His weak leadership and failed presidency are a complete disaster for the people of Ohio as inflation continues to outpace wages, the national debt has spiked by $3.7 trillion, and gas still costs over $1 more per gallon than when Biden took office,” Triantafilou (pictured above) said.

The Democrats’ so-called “Inflation Reduction Act,” successor to the House-passed Build Back Better Act of late 2021, was touted by Biden too, among other things, to help reduce the country’s crippling inflation.

Democrats claimed that the act would ensure the wealthiest Americans and corporations pay their “fair share” by closing tax loopholes and boosting IRS funding, all without raising taxes on anyone making less than $400,000 per year.

Nonpartisan analysis, however, revealed that the legislation would increase taxes on low- and middle-income Americans during a period of declining gross domestic product and high inflation; it would also increase taxes on manufacturers, exacerbate supply-chain disruptions, cost American jobs and investment, and do very little to lower inflation.

Biden’s most recent budget proposal, which many consider his biggest tax increase to date, will only make things worse for Ohio taxpayers by hiking income tax rates to the highest levels in the industrialized world.

Biden would increase revenues by $4 trillion on a gross basis during the following ten years when combined with the tax increases in the Build Back Better Act, which the budget assumes is passed into law. Economic growth would be harmed by the Biden tax increases in the budget and the Build Better Back Act, which would undermine investment incentives and productive capacity at the worst possible time.

Biden’s rampant spending has caused inflation to outpace real earnings for 24 consecutive months.

According to Triantafilou, it’s time for a Republican to regain the presidency.

“It is past time to send strong Republican leadership back to the White House,” Triantafilou said.

Former President Republican Donald Trump has announced his candidacy for the presidency, and many consider him to be the front-runner.

Other Republicans who have announced their candidacies are businessman and Ohio native Vivek Ramaswamy, radio host and commentator Larry Elder, and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. Former Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson is reportedly planning to announce his candidacy this month also.

Americans are also watching U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for a prospective announcement. Scott launched an exploratory committee earlier this month.
