Arizona U.S. Senate Candidate Kari Lake Endorsed by NRSC Chair Steve Daines

U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake was endorsed on Tuesday by Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), who is the chair of the influential National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).

In a post to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, the NRSC published a statement announcing the endorsement for Lake.

“Kari Lake is one of the most talented candidates in the country,” Daines said of Lake in a statement. “Kari is building out an effective campaign operation that has what it takes to flip Arizona’s Senate seat in November.”

Daines added, “I’m proud to endorse Kari Lake for United States Senate.”

U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), who was among the earliest Senate endorsements of Lake, celebrated the endorsement by sharing the NRSC post.

“Kari is doing everything she needs to do to put together a winning campaign,” wrote Barrasso.

Daines’ endorsement, and the likely support from the NRSC that is to follow, was called Lake’s biggest campaign “victory to date” by German-owned Politico, which explained the endorsement “indicates top Republicans believe she has put together a serious campaign, and it sends a strong message to donors that she is worth their investment.”

According to a statement reported by the outlet, Lake said she is “honored to have the endorsement of Chairman Daines and the NRSC,” explaining the collaboration means her campaign is “uniting Republicans in Arizona” and has “a clear path to victory.”

“The Senate Majority runs through Arizona,” Lake reportedly said.

The outlet also explained the NRSC has already scheduled a fundraiser to support lake for March 6 that will include both Daines and Barrasso, with the latter having announced a separate event with Lake for February 29.

Prior to his endorsement, Daines in an interview called Lake “one of the most talented politicians” running in 2024 and predicted “she will be the nominee.”

Daines and the NRSC announced their support for Lake just one day after the candidate secured two high profile endorsements from Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL-01).

“I am thankful to have the endorsements of America First warriors Senator Paul and Rep. Gaetz,” Lake said in a statement. “They have been champions of fiscal responsibility, and fighting against the Washington War machine.”

Lake, who is facing a possible three-way contest with incumbent Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and likely Democratic candidate Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ-03), recently slammed both likely opponents for supporting the failed Schumer-Sinema border and foreign spending bill in the U.S. Senate.

The Republican suggested Sinema has “no path to victory” around the time the bill was announced, and referred to the bill as a “slap in the face” of Republicans.
