Steve Bannon, former chief strategist to former President Donald Trump and host of the popular show War Room, made a statement from prison in response to the apparent assassination attempt of Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

At approximately 6:13 p.m. on Saturday, according to the U.S. Secret Service, a “suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.”

The shooter, who shot and killed one spectator and injured two others, was fatally shot by Secret Service personnel.

Trump was grazed by a single bullet in his upper right ear.

Hours after the shooting, Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, announced that he received an email from Bannon that said, “told everyone they would try to assassinate him” and, “told everyone they would try to assassinate him.”

Bannon is currently serving a four-month prison sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Danbury in Danbury, Connecticut for his 2022 conviction on contempt of Congress charges for ignoring a subpoena from the January 6 Select Committee.

Kassam later reported that he received another statement from Bannon amid the shooting, which read, “I’ve warned about this very thing for over a year–an assassination attempt–the threat is real, very real. Thankfully, President Trump wears the Armor of God.

Bannon added, “Today, our leader showed total command presence, stood tall, and said ‘FIGHT’!”

Grace Chong, who is the CFO and COO of War Room, also received an email from Bannon following the shooting, which said, “Told everyone this is the single biggest worry I have…[at] close range, [at] a rally or a crowd…horrible, horrible horrible…Thank God he wears the armor of God.”

Trump has since spoken out amid the shooting, writing in a Truth Social post, “I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead.”

“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” Trump added. “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has since assumed the role of the lead federal law enforcement agency in the investigation of Saturday’s shooting.
