Bill Clinton Admits Laken Riley Would Be Alive Today if Biden-Harris Admin Had Properly Vetted Illegal Alien Alleged Killer

Former President Bill Clinton

A video of former President Bill Clinton is going viral after he admitted that the murder of Laken Riley, the 22-year-old Georgia nursing student who was allegedly killed at the hands of an illegal Venezuelan migrant, “wouldn’t have happened” if the suspect was “properly vetted” while entering the U.S. illegally.

Clinton made the remarks while campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris at a fish fry in Fort Valley, Georgia on Sunday.

“You had a case in Georgia not very long ago…about a young woman who had been killed by an immigrant,” Clinton said.

“If they’d all been properly vetted, that probably wouldn’t have happened. If they are all properly vetted, that doesn’t happen and America is not having enough babies to keep our population up, so we need immigrants that have been vetted to do work,” Clinton added.

Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela, was arrested and charged in February for his alleged murder of Riley, who died from blunt-force trauma to her head.

Ibarra was processed and released after crossing illegally into the U.S. on September 8, 2022, and was previously arrested and charged in New York City with child endangerment and a motor vehicle license violation last year.

It was later revealed that Ibarra was released into the U.S. due to the Department of Homeland Security lacking detention space at the time of his encounter.

Clinton’s remarks on Sunday were directly followed by his criticism of the failed passage of a bill earlier this year, the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, which would have allocated additional funds for hiring more immigration judges as well as handling foreign nationals illegally in the U.S.

The bill also included a provision allowing the U.S.-Mexico border to remain open as long as crossings remain under 5,000 migrants per day.

Deemed “bipartisan,” the bill was negotiated by a single Republican – U.S. Senator James Lankford (R-OK).

Despite this and the fact that Ibarra entered the U.S. years prior to the bill’s failure, Clinton attempted to tie Riley’s murder to the failed passage of the Senate border bill, claiming that former President Donald Trump “killed the bill.”

“On the immigration thing, [Harris] is the only candidate who has actually endorsed a bill that would hold down immigration in any given year to a certain point and then make sure we gave people a decent place to live, we didn’t divide people from their children, and we did total vetting before people got in. Now, Trump killed the bill. The bill was being written by senior Republicans in the Senate and he killed the bill,” Clinton said.
