Dave McCormick Endorsed by The Jewish Voice as Poll Shows Tie in Pennsylvania Race Against Sen. Bob Casey

Republican U.S. Senate nominee Dave McCormick received The Jewish Voice’s endorsement on Wednesday. The Voice called him the Pennsylvania candidate capable of ensuring the “Judeo-Christian right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness for all.”

McCormick received endorsement amid the release of polling showing him statistically tied with his opponent, three-term incumbent Senator Bob Casey (D-PA). As the Republican has repeatedly argued, the Biden-Harris administration and Casey have failed to adequately support Israel and Jewish faithful in Pennsylvania.

The Republican said Casey and Democrats should have acted faster to break up anti-Israel campus protests in May when McCormick told The Pennsylvania Daily Star he would urge senators to “revisit” the tax-exempt status afforded to university endowments in response.

He also accused Casey and Vice President Kamala Harris of being “weak” allies to Israel in September and joined podcaster Dan Menor to discuss the importance of combating antisemitism at an event in Marion, Pennsylvania, last month.

McCormick also argued that Vice President Kamala Harris was swayed by concerns over Governor Josh Shapiro’s Jewish faith during the selection of her vice presidential running mate, when Shapiro was passed over in favor of Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota.

“It’s hard to imagine that Josh’s strong stand on Israel, his Jewish background didn’t somehow factor into the decision,” said McCormick after the selection of Walz, calling it “a time when we’re being tested” morally with the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The Voice’s endorsement came as Insider Advantage released polling showing McCormick trailing Casey by just 2 percent, with the senator leading 47-45.

An additional 2 percent of voters said they would vote for another candidate, while 6 percent were undecided. The pollsters gathered their data on Sunday and Monday and reported a margin of error of 3.46 percent, meaning Casey and McCormick are statistically tied.

The results could suggest the Senate race is narrowing in the final weeks of the election, as the RealClearPolling average of data shows Casey with a 3.9 percent lead over McCormick.

While McCormick narrowly trailed Casey in the poll, the results showed former President Donald Trump leading Harris by an identical 2 percent, leaving both the presidential and Senate races within the margin of error in the Keystone State.

The RealClearPolling shows an even more competitive race between Trump and Harris, with the former president leading its aggregate by just 0.2 percent.
