Georgia GOP Chairman Josh McKoon Appoints Julianne Thompson to Serve as His Special Advisor

Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party (GAGOP) Josh McKoon recently announced his appointment of Julianne Thompson to serve as special advisor to the chairman.

Thompson previously served the GAGOP as communications director and press secretary. In addition, she served as a legislative aide to the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee and Subcommittee on the Constitution, received two Gubernatorial appointments, and has been listed in Who’s Who Among Outstanding Young Women in America.

“Julianne has a wealth of knowledge and extensive relationships that will continue to help us build the Georgia Republican Party into a tremendous force to fire Joe Biden and elect a Republican President in 2024,” McKoon said in a statement. “She has served on Advisory Boards for two Presidential Campaigns, and I am excited to have her assistance with strategic initiatives that are key to our success next year.”

GAGOP also described Thompson (pictured above) as a “well-respected Republican strategist.”

“A nationally recognized coalition builder, she works with candidates, organizations and corporations with targeted messaging and grassroots advocacy, and has built a strong network of conservative activists that spans not only Georgia, but also the United States,” GAGOP wrote in a press release.

The party went on to note Thompson’s frequent appearances on television and radio as a commentator and her work featured in publications nationwide.

“Julianne is an expert on political trends and campaigning in a digital age,” GAGOP added.

Thompson responded to her appointment, saying, “I want to thank Chairman McKoon for his faith and trust in me. I am honored to serve the Georgia Republican Party. I look forward to working with the Chairman to build and strengthen the culture of victory in the Georgia GOP and win back the White House.”

The news of Thompson’s appointment came days after GAGOP announced its State Committee voted at their August meeting to hold the party’s 2024 State Convention in Columbus, Georgia.
