Nashville City Council Member Followed CBP Van to Parking Lot, Demanded Police Force Federal Officials to Leave

Nashville Metro Council Member Sandra Sepulvada

Data made public by Metro Nashville through its Metro Immigration Interactions portal revealed that Metro Nashville Council Member Sandra Sepulveda allegedly followed a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) van until it stopped, then urged Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) to order the federal vehicle’s driver to leave its parking lot.

Less than one week after the beginning of the joint immigration enforcement operation between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) on May 3, data made public by the city revealed officers were “alerted” that Sepulveda was following the vehicle on May 8.

The report explained that MNPD was “alerted” that the council member “had been following a vehicle that she suspected contained immigration officials,” and that she followed the van to the parking lot of a police precinct.

“A South Precinct supervisor went out and spoke with CM Sepulveda who stated she was following the van and recording,” the report revealed. “She asked if MNPD would have the van moved from the parking lot.”

According to the report, the van’s driver was a CBP agent who was driving through the city while waiting for ICE to contact him, and the van was parked in the MNPD parking lot because the driver was concerned about being followed.

“He noticed he was being followed by an unknown female (CM Sepulveda) and drove to the South Precinct parking lot to wait,” the city’s report revealed. “The MNPD supervisor informed CM Sepulveda that the parking area was open to the public and that he could not force them to leave.”

Sepulveda, who is both a former employee of the immigration nonprofit, Conexion Americas, and a former Operations Director and Financial Administrator for the Tennessee Democratic Party, is not the only elected official to follow and record federal law enforcement during the joint immigration enforcement operation.

Just two days later, State Representative Aftyn Behn (D-Nashville) was involved in a live stream as she was pulled over while apparently following ICE vehicles, when she was allegedly part of an effort that delayed “at least 4 ICE vehicles for 20 minutes.”

Federal officials have said that 196 illegal immigrants were arrested by ICE during its operations in Nashville, with arrestees including individuals convicted of rape, drug trafficking, and aggravated assault.

Tensions continue to flare in Nashville, where the city’s Community Review Board (CRB) on Wednesday urged citizens to file complaints against MNPD officers seen cooperating with state and federal officials engaged in immigration enforcement.

If a person, other than a Democrat, MNPD would arrest them for interfering with a law enforcement officer. So Democrats are above the law? Not a surprise!

Read her bio on the city website. As is the case so many times, with democrats, I suspect she holds the position she does due to her race and gender.

  3. No Term Limits, Like our US House and Senate? Because that is working so well, tell us why did you leave CA? or better yet, why did you move to Nashville, Tn?

Aiding and abetting criminal invaders as Miss Sepulveda is doing is high treason. Charge and convict accordingly.

Arrest these council members. Dept of Justice please. Immediately

  6. GET RID OF TERM LIMITS ON THE METRO COUNCIL

THIS IS THE TYPE OF COUNCIL MEMBERS YOU GET WHEN YOU PUT PHONY TERM LIMITS ON OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS.
WHY FIRE A GOOD REPRESENTATIVE IF THEY ARE DOING A GOOD JOB?
NOW THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO RUN FOR THE COUNCIL ARE THOSE THE MAYOR APPROVES OF.
GET RID OF TERM LIMITS ON OUR COUNCIL SO WE VOTERS CAN SELECT & KEEP GOOD ELECTED REPS.

  7. Tennessee has a strict stalking law, perhaps the retarded council woman needs to see how it works.
