A political action committee organized to support candidates friendly to cryptocurrency, the Bitcoin Voters PAC, released a new advertisement to run in Pennsylvania ahead of the election. The group supports former President Donald Trump and Republican Senate nominee Dave McCormick.
After suggesting cryptocurrency, specifically Bitcoin, could be as significant to Pennsylvania’s economy as steel, the ad highlighted past statements by Trump and McCormick offering support to the industry.
“We will ensure the future of crypto and Bitcoin will be made in America,” said Trump in a clip used by Bitcoin Voters PAC, which was captured during the former president’s speech at the Nashville Bitcoin 2024 conference.
In a separate clip used for the ad, McCormick stated, “If America doesn’t embrace it, we’re going to be left behind.”

Cryptocurrency industry website The Crypto Times reported Bitcoin Voters PAC has the support of executives from top cryptocurrency firms, as well as backing from Elon Musk, who the outlet said gave the committee $45 million to support Trump’s campaign in June.
There is no financial reporting from the organization available from Federal Election Commission (FEC), indicating all of its political spending likely began this month. The FEC received the group’s statement or organization on July 29.
The ad comes as both Trump and McCormick have emerged as defenders of cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin in particular, during their respective candidacies.
In an opinion column for The Washington Examiner that McCormick wrote in March, the businessman called cryptocurrency a technological “wave” comparable to GPS, smartphones, and artificial intelligence.
“Let’s not miss the next innovation wave. Tens of millions of Americans own crypto, and the benefits to society are increasingly clear,” wrote McCormick.
Months later, Trump went on to raise $25 million from cryptocurrency investors after a speech in Nashville, Tennessee in July.
“If Bitcoin is going to the Moon – as we say – I want America to be the nation that leads the way,” said Trump.
Trump made similar promises in May, when he spoke before the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, D.C., and urged them to vote for him in a bid to stop the Biden-Harris administration’s “crusade to crush crypto” and replace it with a digital currency backed by the Federal Reserve.
“We’re going to stop it. I will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in the USA, not driven overseas,” Trump said
