Senator Marsha Blackburn Says the GOP’s 2024 Platform Unites Party Ahead of Presidential Election

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said the 2024 Republican Party Platform is an “aspirational,” “modern” agenda that Republicans can unite behind ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

The Republican Party Platform Committee overwhelmingly approved former President Donald Trump’s 2024 Republican Party Platform on Monday.

The new party platform is an agenda consisting of 20 promises Republicans intend to deliver on if Trump is elected back to the White House and Republicans occupy majorities in both the U.S. House and Senate.

Blackburn, who served as the chair of the Republican Party Platform Committee, said the party’s new platform is 16 pages which makes it easy for voters to print out and personally review the agenda items.

“We were so pleased to modernize the Republican Party platform and turn it into something that people are going to read. It is a total of 16 pages. It has 20 promises that are things that we, as Republicans, are going to do. [The platform] has 10 one-page chapters that are really a statement of our principles. It’s aspirational. This is what we believe. This is what we’re going to stand on. They’re very short paragraphs, and I think that people are going to be so excited they can print this off, they can read it,” Blackburn explained on Wednesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.

The 20 commitments included in the Republican Party’s 2024 platform, which Blackburn noted was dedicated to the Forgotten Men and Women of America, include:

1. SEAL THE BORDER, AND STOP THE MIGRANT INVASION
2. CARRY OUT THE LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION IN AMERICAN HISTORY
3. END INFLATION, AND MAKE AMERICA AFFORDABLE AGAIN
4. MAKE AMERICA THE DOMINANT ENERGY PRODUCER IN THE WORLD, BY FAR!
5. STOP OUTSOURCING, AND TURN THE UNITED STATES INTO A MANUFACTURING SUPERPOWER
6. LARGE TAX CUTS FOR WORKERS, AND NO TAX ON TIPS!
7. DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION, OUR BILL OF RIGHTS, AND OUR FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS, INCLUDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF RELIGION, AND THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS
8. PREVENT WORLD WAR THREE, RESTORE PEACE IN EUROPE AND IN THE MIDDLE EAST, AND BUILD A GREAT IRON DOME MISSILE DEFENSE SHIELD OVER OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY — ALL MADE IN AMERICA
9. END THE WEAPONIZATION OF GOVERNMENT AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
10. STOP THE MIGRANT CRIME EPIDEMIC, DEMOLISH THE FOREIGN DRUG CARTELS, CRUSH GANG VIOLENCE, AND LOCK UP VIOLENT OFFENDERS
11. REBUILD OUR CITIES, INCLUDING WASHINGTON DC, MAKING THEM SAFE, CLEAN, AND BEAUTIFUL AGAIN.
12. STRENGTHEN AND MODERNIZE OUR MILITARY, MAKING IT, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE STRONGEST AND MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD
13. KEEP THE U.S. DOLLAR AS THE WORLD’S RESERVE CURRENCY
14. FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE WITH NO CUTS, INCLUDING NO CHANGES TO THE RETIREMENT AGE
15. CANCEL THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE MANDATE AND CUT COSTLY AND BURDENSOME REGULATIONS
16. CUT FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ANY SCHOOL PUSHING CRITICAL RACE THEORY, RADICAL GENDER IDEOLOGY, AND OTHER INAPPROPRIATE RACIAL, SEXUAL, OR POLITICAL CONTENT ON OUR CHILDREN
17. KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN’S SPORTS
18. DEPORT PRO-HAMAS RADICALS AND MAKE OUR COLLEGE CAMPUSES SAFE AND PATRIOTIC AGAIN
19. SECURE OUR ELECTIONS, INCLUDING SAME DAY VOTING, VOTER IDENTIFICATION, PAPER BALLOTS, AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP
20. UNITE OUR COUNTRY BY BRINGING IT TO NEW AND RECORD LEVELS OF SUCCESS

“When you look at those 20 items, I don’t think there’s much there that anybody would disagree with. They want to bring down inflation. They want tax cuts,” Blackburn said.

Blackburn went on to note how the agenda was approved and edited by Trump, who was heavily involved in its process to ensure the Republican Party is not heading into the 2024 election fractured and disconnected.

“President Trump was involved in this every step of the way. He read it. He gave input. He edited it. He approved it,” Blackburn said.

“What a joy to work with [Trump] and his team and the platform committee and lead them. The chair of the committee is there to orchestrate and facilitate the ability of the committee to do their will and to work with them and to see their determination to push through, to get this done, to finish it, to send the signal that we are all with President Donald John Trump, and that we are not going to let there be a distraction of a family fight. We’re going to let the Democrats continue to be the ones in chaos,” Blackburn added.
