Tennessee U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett Slams Department of Energy over Use of Strategic Oil Supply

U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) declared Biden administration Department of Energy Secretary Granholm either “ignorant” or “a liar” during a Sunday interview after previously sparring with her in a U.S. House Oversight committee meeting over the Biden administration’s decision to release part of the country’s strategic oil supply.

Burchett previously confronted Granholm on May 23 over the Biden administration’s oil and energy policies, as well as its recent decision to release part of its strategic oil supply ahead of the Independence Day holiday on July 4, and told Katie Smith of One America News Network (OANN) that Granholm is “either ignorant or she’s a liar.”

He offered, “I think it’s really just a combination of the two,” and suggested the Biden administration tries to “check a box” with its staffing decisions.

“I don’t know what box she checked, but it’s not the most intelligent one, I can tell you.” Burchett continued, “Throughout her testimony, things that I asked her, she either was mistaken or just wasn’t telling the truth. We’ve seen this time and time again, just the arrogance of this administration.”

The Republican lawmaker said he expected Granholm would counter his claims about the Biden administration’s efforts to curtail domestic energy production with claims it has “permitted all these wells,” but said the wells are useless without oil pipelines.

“They’re not permitting the pipelines that carry it, so it’s still in the ground [and] you can’t do anything with it,” said Burchett. “This administration takes this country for fools and I hope they wake up on election day.”

Asked about the caliber of employees at the Department of Energy, Burchett urged Americans to vote in November.

“This is what happens when 20 million conservatives decide not to go to the polls. This administration is just full of these type of instances where these folks are unprepared, uneducated, and really just don’t care, and they’re allowed to continue on,” Burchett offered.

Of Granholm, he declared, “If she worked for me I’d fire her, because the misleading answers and the arrogance that she showed to Congress was just pathetic.”

Burchett told Smith her behavior and responses to congress is emblematic of the Biden administration.

“This is what you get, so we’re dealing with it, but the problem is we’ve got over 100 more days of this nonsense,” said Burchett.

He added, “Releasing fuel for the 4th of July weekend is tantamount to dereliction of duty, is what that is, because that fuel is there for an emergency situation and the 4th of July is not an emergency. It happens every year around this time, you can check your calendar.”

If it shits through feathers and has web feet it’s likely a duck. The strategic part of the petroleum reserves for Traitor Joe Biden’s admin is to deplete them.

Hard to disagree with the Congressman after seeing Granholm in “action”. I think her qualification for selection to her position was the ability to spell the word energy.
