Alex Triantafilou, the newly elected head of the Ohio Republican Party, stopped in Lima for the Allen County Republican Party‘s monthly luncheon on March 3rd. to discuss his vision of what the party can anticipate this year.
According to Triantafilou, they will strive to keep Ohio a “red” state and will concentrate on removing U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and President Joe Biden from office.
The chairman says he is certain that his background will help the Ohio Republican Party advance.
Triantafilou discussed impending plans for the party while at the luncheon. He declared that he wants to concentrate on a fresh vision that includes fund-raising and updating the party’s platform and rules.
“Raising money will allow us to do the programs that we want to touch every corner of this state. To have the kind of workers and infrastructure in this state that can help us deliver the votes. We are developing a strong platform. Chairman Paduchik before me developed a platform committee. We are going to continue working on that committee with great leaders like Tony Schroeder and others to deliver to Ohio and others a document that says this is what we stand for,” Triantafilou said.
According to Triantafilou, he is also focusing on early voting.
“We really want to get Republicans focused on early voting. We get beat in the early votes,” Triantafilou said.
Also, he urged the party to participate in the primaries and choose a candidate for Ohio’s U.S. Senate seat. Brown will be running for reelection in 2024. Triantafilou wants a Republican contender to take the senator’s place.
“Ohio has a chance to make a big difference nationally. In 2024, in the United States of America, we have three (Republican) senators running in states where Donald Trump won. Those states are Ohio, West Virginia and Montana,” Triantafilou said.
These plans echo Triantafilou’s priorities he stated upon his election as chairman on January 6th.
“I will do everything in my power to advance the cause of the Republican Party in Ohio for victory. That’s what it’s all about,” Triantafilou said.
According to Triantafilou, the Republican party will be able to keep winning races throughout Ohio by operating as a professional, principled organization.
Triantafilou served as Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party since 2008, as well as served as a Hamilton County Prosecutor and a judge on two courts. Prior to his period serving as a judge, Triantafilou served as Vice-Chairman of the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign. He is a former president of the Green Township Republican Club as well as a former member of the Republican Executive and Judicial Screening Committee. Triantafilou replaced the previous Ohio Republican Party Chairman Bob Paduchik.
