Nashville International Airport Experiences Record-Breaking 2023 Fiscal Year

Nashville International Airport (BNA) recently announced it served a record number of travelers during its Fiscal Year 2023.

During the airport’s Fiscal Year 2023, it served a total of 21.9 million travelers, which is 18.7 percent higher than its previous record-breaking high in Fiscal Year 2022.

BNA recorded its record-breaking month in May as the airport served a total of 2,071,705 passengers, which equals out to approximately 66,800 passengers per day. In addition, BNA’s busiest day in Fiscal Year 2023 was May 7, as the airport served 39,745 passengers in total.

In its fiscal year end review, BNA also touted its growing air service. The airport currently offers a record-breaking number of 99 nonstop destinations and an average 600 daily operations, with approximately 300 departures and 300 arrivals.

In Fiscal Year 2023, BNA added a nonstop route to Vancouver, Canada through WestJet Airlines and a nonstop route to Delaware through Avelo Airlines, as previously reported by The Tennessee Star.

BNA also touted the continued growth of total passengers it serves throughout each year. In 2013, BNA recorded a total of 10.6 million passengers – less than half of the amount of this year’s 21.9 million.

“It gives me great pride that BNA continues to break records and experience tremendous growth,” Doug Kreulen, president and CEO of BNA said in a statement. “As we wrap up BNA® Vision at the end of 2023, we are looking forward to the continuation of New Horizon – our next phase of expansion to accommodate growth up to 35M passengers and keep Nashville International Airport a world-class facility. Our future is very bright!”

BNA also acknowledged numerous improvements made to the airport during Fiscal Year 2023, including the addition of 18 new concessions and retail options, a new cell lot, a 215-foot pedestrian bridge, a new 200,000-square foot Grand Lobby with 24 TSA security lanes, and a six-level parking structure with 1,800 covered parking spaces.
