Arizona State Representative Walt Blackman Condemns Hypocrisy of Critical Race Theory Proponents’ Dismissal of Black Abortions

Arizona State Representative Walt Blackman (R-Pine) hammered proponents of Critical Race Theory (CRT) Thursday for their hypocrisy in ignoring the “racism” and “oppression” experienced by the hundreds of black babies who are aborted each day.

In a floor speech prior to his vote of approval for a measure that would place on the ballot an amendment to the state Constitution to prohibit the teaching of the concepts of CRT and ban any preferential treatment based upon race, Blackman asserted the “whole truth doesn’t come out” when the arguments about CRT are made.

The Arizona representative said:

We want to talk about part of the history. We want to put people in boxes and categories, to make them feel bad or guilty about something they had nothing to do with. There’s not one person in here who owned a bunch of slaves. There’s not one person in here who was a slave.

Is the conversation needed? Yeah, but let’s peel back the onion and really talk about this. If we want to talk about racism, we need to really talk about it. We want to talk about oppression of a people? Let’s really talk about that. Let’s talk about the 1,300 black babies that are aborted every single day! But nobody wants to have those types of discussions. We want to talk about CRT and make it make us feel good about things.

There are more black babies aborted than there are born! We’re not talking about that. You want to talk about CRT? There are some real issues going on in black communities, and the very people that want to push this are the ones who are killing us every day or support those programs that are killing us! So, we want to have conversations about this type of stuff. Let’s talk about some real issues in the black community. Because we are being slaughtered every single day!

Blackman received praise for addressing the hypocrisy of CRT proponents who spread the narrative of systemic racism and white supremacy, yet support the abortion industry’s promotion of its business in minority neighborhoods using the jargon of social justice:

African pro-life leader Obianuju Ekeocha referred to Blackman’s remarks as “profound.”

“At this point in history when we claim to be an era of human rights, dignity and EQUALITY, politicians refuse to talk about one of the most racist human rights abuses of our time – the black babies being aborted,” she stated.

Author and screenwriter Andrew Klavan also remarked, “You can’t lose faith in this country when guys like this are still getting elected.”

Blackman, Klavan added, “is speaking right out of the bedrock of American values here.”

HCR2001, titled the “Stop Critical Race Theory and Racial Discrimination in Schools and Other Public Institutions Act,” passed the Arizona State House by a vote of 31-28. The bill would:

… amend the Arizona Constitution, subject to voter approval, to prohibit preferential treatment or discrimination on the basis of race or ethnicity and the teaching of specified concepts in a public educational institution.

The measure also “specifies that a teacher in a public institution of elementary or secondary education is not prevented from discussing and identifying historical ideologies, movements or instances of racial hatred or discrimination.”
