Senator Jack Johnson’s ‘Boots and Jeans, BBQ and Beans’ Event to Feature Several Tennessee Leaders

Tennessee Senator Jack Johnson’s (R-Franklin) annual “Boots and Jeans, BBQ and Beans” fundraising event will feature several prominent leaders from across Tennessee.

According to Johnson’s website, a host of political leaders will attend the event: Governor Bill Lee, Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty, and Congressman Mark Green.

In addition to the state and federal elected officials, dozens of local leaders will join in support of Johnson’s campaign in the GOP primary.

“He has consistently fought to lower taxes, defend our constitutional rights, ensure every parent has a voice in their child’s education, and protect our most vulnerable. Tennessee must continue to elect strong conservative leaders, like Jack. I look forward to casting my vote for Jack, and I encourage all my friends and neighbors to join me in supporting Jack Johnson in the Republican Primary,” Senator Marsha Blackburn said in her endorsement of Johnson ahead of the August 4th primary.

The incumbent is facing Gary Humble, Executive Director of Tennessee Stands.

When speaking on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy, Johnson detailed that he looked forward to the campaign:

“I’m very excited about my re-election campaign. I’m excited to go and talk to the voters of Williamson County about everything that we’ve accomplished, in what has relatively been a short period of time, about 10 to 11 years of Republican control in the state of Tennessee,” he said.

Yes, Every Kid

“We’ve become the least-indebted state in the nation. We’re one of the least-taxed states. We’ve got a very small-business-friendly business climate in the state of Tennessee. We have passed school choice, we’ve passed the most comprehensive heartbeat, pro-life, sanctity-of-life legislation in the history of our state, and certainly advanced Second Amendment rights in Tennessee.”

Johnson is a chamber of commerce puppet. Roadbuilders wanted more funds and he delivered. Simple as that. As far as his judge wife, WIlliamson County isn’t exactly a bastion of conservative AND brilliant jurisprudence. She fits in perfectly.
Haslam made some really awful judicial appointments. The worst was probably Timmy Easter, also of Williamson County.

Back when Jack originally ran for TN State Senate I believed he was a tax cutting conservative. He proved all that wrong when he pushed for and voted for a gas tax increase. Jack’s current political ad neglects to include his pro tax increase stance when it came to the gas tax. You can’t be both a tax cut politician and a tax increase politician Jack. I’m wondering when is Jack going to be called to account for his pro gas tax increase in 2017 with a $2 billion surplus? Was his wife Deana receiving an judgeship appointment pay for play situation between Jack and Haslam? I’d like to hear Jack’s response to this.
