Parents Reclaim Libraries with Christian Story Hour Events Across Minnesota

More than a dozen communities across the state participated in Brave Books’ first annual “See You at the Library” event over the weekend, a national movement to “bring traditional Christian and American values back into the public space,” local event organizers told Alpha News.

“When we saw Brave Books was looking for people to host story hours at their local libraries, we thought it would be an awesome way to connect with the community, educate parents how low our literacy rates are, and bring an hour of fun to families right in their local library,” said Britni Granquist with Dakota County Moms for Liberty, which helped organize five story hours across the south metro attracting more than 600 attendees.

Christian Book Author Kirk Cameron May Return to Tennessee Library for Brave Books’ ‘Library Takeover Day’

Christian book author and actor Kirk Cameron said he may be returning to a Tennessee library on August 5 for “See You at the Library,” a national “library takeover day” event sponsored by BRAVE Books that seeks to challenge left-wing censorship in public libraries.

Cameron told Human Events host Jack Posobiec last week that while the national event will be conducted in “hundreds and hundreds of libraries” across the country, he may be reading his books in the “same library” in Tennessee in which the librarian was fired for attempting to cancel his original event in February.

After Legal Challenge, Local Library Allow Christian Book Story Hour

An Arizona library that censored a local resident from hosting a Christian book reading is backing down after a religious liberty law firm’s demand letter.

“We appreciate the county’s quick response to our letter and are working with the library staff on scheduling a time when our client can host story time,” Andy Gould, senior counsel with the First Liberty Institute, told The Daily Signal.
